So, is the Holiday Inn no longer a host hotel then next to Lamplighter North?

Last year we stayed at the Holiday Inn next door to the Lamplighter. Are they NOT going to be a HOST hotel this year? If not, WHY?

Would like to stay there again this year if we can!

Very nice Hotel. Indoor pool, spa, and work out center.

As I remember it, Holiday Inn would not permit the SF host to place a board in or near the reception area informing
SF participants of upcoming events or ride outs etc.
I stayed there in 2014 and the room was fine. One of the elevators was out of order (It was still out of order in 2015!) The bar
was great....Paul the bar tender is excellent. The restaurant will get none of my business again, so a mix of good, bad
and so-so.

You are welcome to stay where ever you would like. Currently the Holiday Inn will not be a Spyder Friendly hotel.

There were reasons why we chose not to have that as a Spyder Friendly Hotel for SF 2016.

I do! It's not easy keeping this 75 year old body looking "Buff".


Only complaint I had with the Holiday was no free buffet in the morning. As a result no one there to visit with or congregate.



As mis-stated in an earlier post, a reader board of the days activities for Spyderfest was allowed last year.

Hi Joanie:

YES, we would stay there again for sure. The room was so quiet and the hotel was very nice. They have a large parking lot which is helpful for people like us who trailer our Spyder to the event, because we aren't the type to ride a lot in bad weather. So we at least can have our truck if need be. The parking lot is very easy to get into and out of.

Yes, they had no breakfasts for SF, we did see a sign posted in the lobby when we were there last year telling people of events, so not sure on that issue at all.

Yes, they have a elevator out of order but we used the freight elevator if the regular one was too busy.

They also provided a bike wash for all last year which was nice too. Very friendly front desk. The rate last year was very nice too. I think we paid $88 per night last year.

So we will try to stay there again this year but would like to see them be a "HOST" again too. They are right next door to Lamplighter and was an easy walk across the parking lot to go see others who were staying at the Lamplighter.

Apologies for the mistake about the the events board...I'm trying to remember this from a year ago when I was told
about their shortcomings by Phil Burks who was the SF host there. I stayed there the year before when they weren't an official SF hotel.

I understand if you want to stay at BW that is fine. But did you check with the Lamplighter or the Econolodge. The other two Spyder Friendly Hotels.
