• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

One of those weeks

Desert Spyder

Anybody else have those weeks when the bike runs absolutely lovely yet the mpg is about a fourth of what it normally is? Weird! Guess I should count my blessings. In addition to being a so called reverse trike it actually gets better mileage going uphill. Guess it loves altitude with an attitude.

I took off my GIVI windscreen yesterday and put the stock one my wife modified for me on to go to a show. I am definitely less aerodynamic than the taller windscreen. I forgot what it was like to catch all of the wind directly in the chest area. I also noted my mileage dropped during the 4 hour trip there and back. I had a great time, but the GIVI is going back on and the shorty will be for shows only.

 Wow!!
Any changes made to the bike or how it was being run?
Are your neighborhood miscreants runniing a desert buggy on your fuel??

Good one Bob! Nope, just a stock RT. I will admit yesterday I was driving into a strong headwind and the fastest I could get was only 82. Good grief! Thats embarrassing in California.

I must admit I was running 80 on the interstate during this trip as well, and my average speed was probably close to 65 the entire way. That and the broadness of my body on my RS likely contributed to my drop in mileage.

Haven't had the spyder long enough to notice the mileage difference, but have noticed my car gets 4 miles less per gallon. I wonder if they ( government) are doing something to the fuel to make our vehicles burn it faster..LOL..... But it has been going on for the last month or so... I don't use the same all the time either. Just my food for thought...

Your probably still running Summer air in your tires.
But in the North East the do change the gas to a winter formula.
