• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

painting parts

as most of you know i installed the vents from vertika trikes on the bike parts for cooling and i also ordered the paint from http://touchupdirect.com/motorcycle-paint/can-am for the parts. i have made many calls today to paint shops to get the parts painted but no one wants to use my paint. i called 5 motorcycle paint shops and not one wants to use the paint i have, so beware if you need more than a touch up makes calls for anything bigger b4 you order the paint for anything you need painted unless you are going to paint them yourself.

I painted my top vents myself with the touch up direct spray can. It is not a perfect job, but is very acceptable and nice looking. My Spyder is the magnesium color. The problem I had was keeping the color from getting too dark. I finished it with a couple of coats of clear lacquer.

ANOTHER OPTION ? ? ?

I have seen some fairly in-expensive set-ups that use either co'2 cartridges some type of compressed air. They are usually sold to hobby / modelers but I think something a little larger can be found . Search on the Web. .....Good Luck .....Mike ........................................I can't understand why they won't use your PAINT ? ? ?.......They are going to charge you for LABOR , so what's the big Yank.

i am getting a paint guarantee thing from all of them about it and being a 3 stage paint they want to use ppg or other types of paint they are used to. i sent pictures and paint codes to one shop now and i am waiting to see if they will do it and a price

The problem is I think they are using "water borne" paint and a lot of shops are not setup to spray that yet. I know for a fact that most paint shops including me will not spray another brand of paint. I will only spray PPg because if there is a problem mid-stream I know how to fix it. I know how its going to act or react and I think that's what your finding. Ask a Dupont guy to spray PPg and you'll get dirty looks and a big fat NO WAY. I know I don't have a gun that it water borne ready. Good luck and try shops that are closer to the big city where EPA has them over a barrel they may be spraying water borne.

price

just got a price of 450.00 to paint the 7 parts for the bike. the guy at verkita told me 400.oo if he could find the paint so it was 400 plus paint so i told the guy it's a deal.

You can't blame them. It's like taking a steak into a restaurant and asking them to cook it for you. I had some quotes done a few months ago. Five shops told me it was a 3 step process and it was expensive.
