• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Parade

I was in a parade the other night. It was 1.75 mile long. After about 1.5 mile and after the 2nd right hand turn the spyer started jerking kinda like a poping noise from the belt area. Felt like when on a 10 speed bike when the chain does not engage complete on the front 2 sprockets. This best describes the feeling. It did this for about 200 feet. Parade was at parade speed. Stop and go. Only thing I can come up with is maybe rear tire picked up some beads and they went in belt? Anyone else ever have this happen?

Parades

I've been in two Christmas Parades this month. First was a 14 mile parade of old cars, my Spyder (only bike braving the cold wx) then our fire engine, with Santa throwing candy, in our area called Lake Arrowhead. Spyder did great, but when it came to the short, but really steep, hill in the church parking lot, The Big Red Bug didn't like it at all. Stalled at the super slow pace of cars parking and people walking in front of me. The low torque monster reared his ugly head and several stalls later, Big Red got parked. I should have gone to the other parking lot, which is relatively flat. I've ridden all kinds of bikes with little or no torque in the low rpm range, but the Spyder takes the cake on start-ups in general and on really steep driveways for sure. Living and riding in North GA, I'm pretty proficient at feathering the clutch and getting the throttle on without stalling, but that driveway kicked my butt.
Second short parade was only about a mile in downtown Canton, GA. Just one easy hill and everything was ok, except they chose to do it at 5:30 in the evening and as it got dark, the street lights were doing their job; but with little kids and old goats leaping into the street to get the candy and beads, etc, they were hard to see sometimes. Road with my old Goldwing group and it was good to see some of the folks.
No problems at all except my inept starts on that steep approach to the parking lot. It was cold, so it wasn't going to overheat, the hot air coming out of the right side felt good.

Mine felt like that once... When the "P1614" code popped up! Could that have been the "Limp" mode rearing its ugly head??

rode in veterans parade here in DFW, bike began running bad, missing, then the low battery light came on. Riding in parade for over an hour not enough RPM's to charge battery.

Rode in the Vets parade last month, no problems at all. We were just behind the color guard so speeds were really low, using mostly clutch and idle speed. Most of the two wheelers spent more time walking then ryding. The only thing I did was every once in awhile I'd pull the clutch in and give it some rpms while we coasted.

Hey Dar...hope y'all have a GREAT Holiday season with that new grand-baby...you need to send your pic in to Can-am Spyder facebook....

Got stuck in a 2 hour traffic jam on I-95 yesterday. Speed was between dead stop and 3-5 mph for the whole time and :spyder2:was flawless through it all.
