Pedal Box causing Code P2135 - anyone else had issues? Any ideas?

Last week when I was heading to have Pizza with the grand kids (which is in a town about 20 miles from home), my Spyder kicked into Limp mode and the Check Engine Light started to flash, but it was still running fine. I made it to the the pizza parlor and checked to see what the code was (P2135). When I came out after eating it started up fine and the code was cleared and no limp mode.
I started home and about halfway when it kicked into limp mode again with the check engine light flashing. I looked up what the P2135 code was "P2135 is a diagnostic trouble code that indicates a problem with the throttle or pedal position sensors in a vehicle". It made me to think something was wrong with my Pedal Box. I first tried to re calibrate it then took it out for a test run, and the same thing happened again. I then decided to remove it. I first checked that the connections were still connected solid, and they were. I then disconnected the Pedal Box and removed it.
I then took it out for a test run. I rode it for about 2 hours and no issues. I have contacted Lamonsters (where I purchased it from) and I am waiting a reply. I was just wondering if anyone else has had an issue with their Pedal Box.

I returned the one I had when I hooked it up the first time. I did the procedure to set it up with my Spyder. When I started it, the revs went to red line and stayed there. I then removed it and returned the Pedal Box.

I had a similar experience with my Pedal Commander on my 2020 RT. The Pedal Box had been on the RT since April 2022 with no issues. I removed it from the RT and installed it on my 2023 F3 base. It’s been working fine. Thinking about getting a PedalBox Pro for the RT because I definitely miss the “giddy up” feeling in the throttle response.

I had the same issue not long after buying the Pedal Box. The manufacturer said to reset it, which I did, but that didn't resolve the issue. I ate the $300+ I paid for it and bought the Pedal Commander instead. So far, almost 4 years later, it's been solid. I have the Pedal Box still but won't sell it since I had issues and at that time, I had exceeded Lamonster Garage's return policy. Eventually, it'll make its way to the dump unless someone wants to take a shot with it and offer up a price.

Question about Pedal Commander - I'm not interested in any more performance, but one thing I find annoying is having to walk around the throttle with my fingers. If I don't, my wrist is turned down too far.
Not sure of the exact degrees of rotation, but it seems like it's 0 to say 120± deg. Does the Pedal Commander lessen the rotation for the same amount of revs to say, 0 to 90± deg?

A Quick and easy answer to your question is Yes... Depending on the "setting" you end up on determines the throttle response.

For an update on my issue. I contacted Lamonster and they had me send it back to them for "testing". After about 2 weeks one of their technicians called me and stated he had installed it on his Spyder and has been using is for a week with no problems. They sent it back to me and suggested to reinstall it and contact them if the issues happens again. He said that the VSS system on the bike might have had an issue and by leaving it off for a while it would reset itself. I've now had it reinstalled for over a week and had no issues (but just riding it local). The real test will be today as we are headed to Lake Tahoe For "Lunch" (about 160 miles one way).
I really like the throttle response it gives me. I've had it on the bike almost since day one. It was one the the first things I put on it after I bought my Spyder in '22.

Update on today's ride. I just was checking the weather in the Tahoe area, and Thundershowers (75% chance). I'm adventurous, but I've ridden in thundershowers before and it's isn't fun... So going to go tomorrow (Sat) when the weather is more friendly.

.....you end up on determines the throttle response.
Thanks for the reply Kromm.
It's not the 'response' I'm after - I'm fine with the power, get up and go, acceleration from slow speed or no speed; everything works for me the way it is. I'm not an aggressive rider in the least. It's having to walk my fingers around the grip to get the rpms 'correct' for lack of a better word in most gears. Hard to explain, other than I'm having to rotate the grip more than I can without taking another 'bite' on the grip.

That's what it does, and what I meant by response. It doesn't change the "power" but it makes the throttle more responsive so you don't have to "twist" the throttle as much. I come off of riding Sport/Touring bikes, and this lets you adjust the throttle response more to your liking. so you don't have to "walk you fingers around the grip".
If you decide to try one, experiment with the settings. When I first installed mine I put it on the top setting and it was insane an how little you had to move the throttle. I backed the setting down (on the pedal box it the Green setting with 4 bars) to a more comfortable setting.
