• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Probably a stupid idea - thinking I might go from a 2018 F3 Ltd to an RTL S2S - am I crazy and should just keep what I have?

I have a very nice 2018 F3 Limited. The Spyder is in perfect condition and has lots of great upgrades. It only has 19k miles on the odometer. But for whatever reason I have the bug for a new one. I am thinking I might try an RTL S2S, but have not even sat on one, so that may change if I really start looking. The only things I would gain are heated seats, a big dash with CarPlay, and a backup camera. Seems stupid to even think about, but the bug has bitten. I am 77 years old so probably not that many years of riding left. Tell me, am I crazy and should just keep what I have?

All of your readers may have an opinion, but only you can decide if you want the smell of new paint. Your 2018 has a lot of life left in it, but it is nearly 8 model years old. I would not make a decision (my opinion, anyway) based on CarPlay - many of us have been burned by the lack of any reliability in their systems working; maybe 2026 is the year?

I think the acid test would be to sit on one and test ride it, if possible. There is a big difference in the way the RT sits and handles vs the F3 series; for me, I don't care (remember, my opinion) for the RT.

Ps: I'm 72.

I have an RT S2S and an F3 SE (wife) and I have driven both; frankly, the RT has a lot more to offer for the $$, and I find it a lot more comfortable, better windshield and amenities, but the wife wanted the F3, so she’s got one...

I have to also say that my RT is fully loaded, including front/back Elka suspension and a Lamonster Garage Swaybar.

Frankly, only you can say what you want. I have changed vehicles before just because I wanted to; pretty much never because I had too.

How many miles on the F3? I'm frugal; wife calls it World Class Cheap. I have almost 95K on the odo and it's doing just fine. Statistically, I'm not going to outlive her, so everything I do focuses on her wellbeing after I've checked out. Last and most important, I'm unimpressed with what I read here on/about the new dashboard(s) and I don't need that s**t in my life at my age, which is farther down the pike than you are.

For what it’s worth, having both models, I prefer the F3 L over RTL for the ride/handling. Having a 2024 model, the new dash layout is really nice compared to previous models.

* I suggest that you go and sit on an RT.
* Coming from the F3, you'll find that you sit ON the RT whereas you sit IN your F3.
* Also, the dashes are now Touch Screen dashes. See how well you would adjust to one.
* I tried out the new dash at my dealer, and personally I'll keep the "old fashioned" dash on my 2018 F3L any day.
* You probably have more riding years left than you think, says this soon to be 79 year old.
* Good luck with your decision and keep us informed as to what you decide?

I ride all kinds of Spyders at the shop. I much prefer the F3. I don't care about the wind. I just did 1,500 miles without a windshield. If I want wind protection, I drive a car.

But this is nothing more than my personal opinion. In this decision, yours is the only one that matters.
