• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Radio/IC static/noise

Just got my intercom working (had to figure out the settings) and everything seemed fine, until I pulled in to get gas. As I drove under the cover over the pumps I got a lot of noise/static over the headset. It lasted until I pulled away, as soon as we cleared the cover it stopped. Anyone have any idea what caused this?

Oh, I have the OEM CB/Intercom.

While this subject is out there.... I notice a lot of bleed-over on our CB. So if we are listening to the radio or iPod... We hear muffled sounds... Like a person is on a different channel than we have it set at. It is so loud it crushes the item we are listening to. We have the squelch down to the last three bars..

We also get the light static sound :opps:.

Is there any way to turn the CB off?? :dontknow:

Am I missing something? I am not familiar with the RT's CB, but with a conventional CB you turn the squelch up to reject crosstalk and static. Have you tried another squelch setting? Not saying there is not some kind of cable/shielding problem, outside interference, or other difficulty, but it could just be your settings.

Totally could be my own ignorance on what is up and down for sure. I have tried the setting all the way up and down... Still the same result.

I am fine with it of course when we need the CB on. But I was hoping there is a way to turn it off all together to see if it is the CB or a shielding issue. It is easy to test. I have our main office location in an Industrial area, CB communications going on all day with shipping folks... :2thumbs:

If the squelch setting doesn't change it, it sounds like a shielding or short circuit problem. I would see your dealer...but I would expect them to need to consult with BRP and the manufacturer for a while on this one. Sounds like something that could drive you quite nuts, in the end. I know it would me! Best of luck in your search for a cure. Putting in my Starcom1 system was a pain in the neck, but at least I got a comm system without any extra baggage that way.

Intercom questions

What are the settings for the intercom. I do not have the manual I can play
am/fm/wx/cb but no intercom.

Thanks,
Bill

You can turn the CB off. On the CB squelch setting. Hold the down button for a few seconds and the CB will turn off. Feel free to contact me, I would be happy to help.

Steve, I hear you, but don't think that turns the CB off....just the squelch...maybe I am wrong, but I just lower the volume to zero....??
