• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RDL Seat

It's a little softer than the Corbin, but firmer than the stock. The rider portion is more saddle-like so you get a better distribution of support. The same for the passenger portion. I have about 1500 miles on it and still needs a little more breaking in. Trouble is, I only weigh 144, so what sits on the seat is a bit light to "break-in" the seat quickly!

It is not heated. If it's that cold, I don't ride...lolol

Any info as to best way & person to contact at RDL ?

I agree with the passenger getting off when fueling but I mostly go it alone and would like to be able to carry a bag on the seat and leave the trailer at home sometimes. Not very easy without the fuel door.
Thanks for the info on the RDL. It was very useful.
I like to travel with a bag on the seat when Nancy isn't along. I rode to Spyderfest last year that way. If you use the right cargo straps, it is not too tough to loosen them a bit and raise the seat. I like Helen2Wheels Cargo Straps, RokStraps, or PiggybackStraps. The seat will fall back down if not propped up, though. I just stick something under it...even your gloves will do the job. That approach may not be for everybody, but it works for me. The difference between the Corbin and the RDL is that Day-Long uses the stock Spyder seat pan, so modifying it to include a fuel door would be difficult to do well.

If I remember correctly(which isn't always the case), Seth modified his stock seat to include a fuel door. Since RDL seats use the stock pan, his mod just might work.

Very nice looking seat. Is the passenger part of the seat higher than the stock seat?

Jennifer notices a bit of a height difference (higher) but can't really say how much. She still can't see over my head, but the seating posture for her is much improved.
