• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear Wheel/Hub Install

Anyone have any thoughts on the amount of time it should take to install a new rear wheel and hub on the RS? (got the black one from brp) My dealer is telling me that it should take them 5 hours :gaah: Given the fact that they ordered all the new bearings/seals and that are only swapping the tire and sprocket I am thinking that seems like a long time.

P.S. Dont even have a rear fender. Thoughts?

I believe the BRP rear wheel you ordered did NOT include the bearings, seals, spacers, etc. OR the installation of those parts.

Even so, five hours seems a little steep to me... more like three hours for the bearings, seals, etc. and the swap out of the wheels and tire install.

I've done it and I'm not a dealer.

It took me about 6 hours hopping around on the garage floor on my own with no special tools and a few faux pas to remove and replace the wheel when getting my new rear tyre fitted.

If you have a workshop manual, there is a list of times that should guide you (sorry, I don't have mine with me).

Cheers;

Pogo.

I just had this done;
"Remove all tires take to tire shop for mounting, replace rear axle bearing and seals, rear brake pads, all tires, checked alignment ok"
2.00 hours at $119 per hour

But these guys are good!

I would have to agree, that is a little steep. I haven't had mine off yet, but have examined the set-up. I can't believe that it would take that much time for any experienced wrench.Around here, if you buy the tire from the shop, rear tire on a bike (I assure you it ain't that different) is usually 1 hour to swap. Bearings..add another .5 maybe.Even doubled that's only 3 hours..........

Having done this before I would say 2 hours max. The only way it could take me longer is if I had to fight the belt alignment. Sometimes I get it first shot and sometime I have to mess with it a bit.

Thanks to everyone for the reply's. The new rear wheel/hub and sprocket cover are in, just waiting on all the bearings and seals. Thank again
