There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. REAR Wheel Wobble

I am just wondering if anyone here has ever heard of the rear wheel on a Spyder the wobbles.
Here is what happened:

I own a 2008 GS SM5 Roadster. 42,000km on the clock.

I was on my way to my dealer, to get some regular service about 10 min. from them,
and the rear wheel started to wobble. My
wife was in our car behind me and she noticed it also,
It felt as if the rear tire was flat, but it was not.:dontknow::yikes:
When I got it to the dealer, they said they have never heard of this happening on a Spyder that they
have dealt with, but would check out the bearings and rear end axle.
Thank god I was on my way to the dealer.:gaah:

ANYBODY have this happen to them?????
What could it be????? Any ideas and what it may cost me.:chat:
Thanks for your info in advance.

There were rear failures back in the beginning and maybe even a little warranty/recall, axles were involved in some cases, you are way past that. It could be just time for you, especially in a rainy/wintery area. They weren't too pricey if I remember correctly, the labor was more.

Could be cord separation, bearings, loose axle nuts/tension adjusters, or even the bearing retainer portion of the wheel casting getting wallowed out.

Your dealer should be able to pinpoint it pretty quickly. Let us know what it turns out to be.

The rear wheel bearings went out on my wife's 2008 at about 30,000 miles (48,000km). Metal shavings on the rear wheel speed sensor let her know pretty quick. The dealer replaced them under warranty. Warranty or not, he said that shouldn't have happened.

Please keep us posted. What others said above is the likely source/cause of the problem.

Ditto: on not being a common issue/problem.
