There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Recommendations for a anti fog spray for helmets

Just wanted to get anyones take on a good anti fog spray (or wipes) for helmet sheilds. Thanks and still waiting for it to hit the mid 50's here to ride:gaah:

Try this..!!

If all else fail....we just spit on the sheild and wiped it and worked great. There are several products but not having that problem can't remember their names...most bike shops carry them...

I just ordered a bottle of the Clarity DeFog from amazon to give it a try, supposed to be here Sunday.

I tried a technique I read about that sounds crazy but works fantastically! I used dish soap like dawn and placed a drop on the inside of the visor, rub it around with your finger and let it dry. Buff out with a soft towel until clear. This worked perfectly for me and lasted for over a week with only one application. I also read you can use shaving cream but haven't tried that yet.

I have tried most every product out there and disapointed with them all. Some help for a short time, others little or no help at all. If any one recommends one that they have used with success let me know.

anti-fog

I am from Lockport and we would go skiing and snowmobiling the best anti-fog we got was from a Ski shop or a snowmobile shop.

Full Helmet...

I use the pinlock shield inserts, that work without having to spray or add any dish soap to. However, you have to replace the shield for the pinlock version and then buy the inserts... It gets pricey. The good part, you only do it once and you don't worry about it again. Hands down the best system for anti fog out there... This works for full helmets, but not sure if you can get a pinlock system for half helmets?

1+ on the pinlock, on my second year with one, would never be without on again. :bowdown:nojoke:clap::clap:

On pinlock, it's a clear shield and then you can add tinted inserts right? Are there any gaps in the edges where bright light shines through? Also, is it hard to remove a tinted insert at night - any special storage or consideration? I've been interested in pinlock but haven't really researched it.

Well, to mitigate lost time and frustration of swapping out the pinlock insert, I have invested in two pinlock shields with two clear inserts (one shield fully tinted, the other clear). I then just swap out the shield I need for the given time of day. I wear a Shoei RF-1100, and the shield swapping is really easy. I guess the pinlock insert swap could be just as easy, depending on the make of helmet you have and how easy the shield swap is? I obviously cleaned the shield and insert prior to insertion, and therefore the area between the layers is clean. I then just use soap and water to wash either side of the shield to freshen up the view. I never fog up, at any given time or any given temperature... Best purchase ever. I try to always store the helmet and or shields in the house or in the trunk when traveling, keeping it out of hot weather for an extended time. Hope this helps!
