• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Request - Communication / Entertainment harness details

All, It would be super helpful to all of us if someone either removing this harness or installing it could please take a picture of every connector and wiring color at the connectors.

Best case if someone could ohm out the cable from connector pin to connector pin especially coming from the radio plug!

If you cant ohm it out, detailed pictures of each plug and the back side of each plug showing the wire colors should work.

Thanks!

I saw that post before but not enough info on the harness there. Thanks for helping though!

I am interested in the output/inputs to the radio's 2nd plug. It appears there are many features that could be implemented but Radio Sound wont release the info as it was made proprietary for BRP.

But they list the N-Touch radios features:

Product Highlights:
AM / FM / Weatherband radios with in-dash CD or cassette and speed-sensitive volume
Radios for Europe, Japan and Australia
Radio with internal high-power amplifier
Speakers and speaker housings
Stereo helmet headset with microphone
CB radios for U.S. & Europe
Rider to passenger voice-activated intercom
XM satellite radio
CD Changer
High power amplifier
GMRS radio
iPod Interface

I think some of this is wired into the entertainment / CB harness. Thus it will help us figure out the pins and what off the shelf stuff we can add to it.

Also the way BRP implemented you can either have the Bluetooth SM10 setup or the CB but not both! I believe it is possible to have both easily! Not that I want a CB myself but many do.

Also it would be cool to use the PTT button on the handle bars for something. Like maybe a bind button for the SM10 when it decides to unbind sometimes :)

In the end I am not trying to recreate the harness just understand the pins on the radio and what we might be able to do with them.

I may take the radio apart and see if there are silkscreen labels on the circuit board.
