• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

reverse image backup camera

Due to an old injury I find it hard to turn my neck far enough to see behind me and mirrors are not always the best for this either. I have a mount for my phone on my dash and want to find a camera that transmits by blue tooth. I know you can use a high end video camera to do this but that's too much for this application as it will be perminately mounted facing backwards and needs to be reverse image. I recently seen a guy using his phone and a small pin hole type camera but he was gone when I came back out from the store. Any one know who sells this low cost solution?

Thanks

There you go...!!

I knew I just saw one installed. That was one of the farkles you did recently...very nice and should hep the op...

Lol, Ok, lets start again, I want a "blue tooth camera" that will send to my phone, not a second screen on my dash. I have two of those at home already.

Might work??

Hisy Bluetooth Camera on Amazon may do the trick. I have not tried one but they are supposed to work well with iPhone.

Thanks, I will check it out. So far it appears to be a remote shutter button only but I will check to see if they have a camera.

I did some checking on the China shopping sites and there appears to be no such thing as a BT camera. May not be enough bandwidth on BT. There appears to be some WiFi cameras and that should be doable to your phone. By the way that is how GoPro does it, WiFi not BT.

Good point, I will check more on Wi-Fi, I have Wi-Fi on the phone but it will be hit and miss if the signal is week.

With GoPro the Wi-Fi signal comes from the camera. With my tablet I have wi-fi turned off in settings and the GoPro app turns it on and off as needed. Signal strength to your phone should not be an issue for a wi-fi back up camera. The GoPro would work perfect for what you want but it would an awfully heavy investment for a BU camera only.

backup camera

only and NOT the monitor. but , anyhows bluetooth sound appealing to me. my search continues....:chat:

I am downloading an app from the App Store called Remote Camera via WiFi and Bluetooth ($2.99) that can be loaded on both the iPhone and iPad. Theoretically you can mount the iphone on the rear trunk with an X mount and suction cup and an x-mount, or similar clamp, in the front with another iphone or ipad. Of course you will need to have a charging cable on both devices and shut off the wifi. Not sure how the display will work in the daytime. Thats the cheap solution.

A more expensive solution will be to get a Reevu helmet which uses a mirror system to project an image to a little viewfinder above your brows. Off course if you are riding twosies you will get a good view of your partner. Under $500.

Skully will be marketing, if they haven't started already, a smart helmet. Very cool. About $1500.

Well, the app idea didn't work. It only transmits still pictures. The backup monitor will be the best low cost solution it looks like. But technology is changing the world every day.
