• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Riding pants newbie question

With all the talk about gear, I've decided to get some riding pants. I have always worn jacket, helmet, gloves, boots, and jeans. I have never really considered armored pants though. My question is are you suppose to buy pants that fit over jeans so you can take them off like you do your jacket, or are you suppose to wear them instead of jeans and just keep them on?

I wear Tourmaster air intake. They are a 3 layers in one. I have worn them over jeans, shorts, and even boxers with as little as the mesh layer to all the inserts.

You can buy either type depending on your needs or preferences. The ones that fit over your jeans are called overpants. For summer riding consider mesh, anything else will be too hot and you won't use them.

:agree: How you wear them will depend on your climate and riding conditions.
Mesh with armor might just offer the coolest combination with the most safety.

You will get many answers and ideas. Get what works best for you.

Here are some of the things I use.

Kevlar Jeans

Regular Jeans and Chaps.

Leather riding/waterproof pants (Revit)

Firstgear riding pants with liners.

None of the above go over regular pants, but are worn in lieu of.
