• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Rivco Heal Toe Shifter recommended?

Rockwall

I have a new 2012 RS SM5 just waiting to be picked up at the dealer. I'm probably going to be adding Rivco floorboards because at 6'4" I definitely need the additional comfort. I also plan to get ESI highway pegs due to some great info here. Should I add on the Rivco heal toe shifter? Anyone have any opinions either way?

Thanks:doorag:

That's tough to say ...
Do you feel as if you need a heel/toe shifter?
Or want one?
I personally always liked them; but not everybody gets along with them...

:agree:
But some folks like to not have anything more underneath their feet than they need...
Each to their own notion...
Question:
Will the heel/toe shifter fit with the floorboards?
(I'm on an ESSIE, so I've never followed much of the info on heel/toe shifters before...:opps:)

Good question. Rivco makes the heal toe shifter to specifically match with their driver floorboards.

Have to agree..!!

I agree with Bob the less you have under foot the better. I'm one of those. I find the stock shifter adjusted to your liking has a smaller range of motion. But then I also prefer pegs so I am way on the other side of what your looking for. Just chiming in for the other side.. You have to pick when in a group check the others who have your desired set up see how it feels. good luck..!!:ohyea:

I would suggest you get the floorboards first and see how it shifts stock, THEN consider the heel/toe shifter.Reason why is this: http://www.rivcoproducts.com/products/product.php?productid=764&cat=435&page=1I've got the Rivco boards with an SE5, and I find that it's most comfortable to keep the toes of my feet on the boards and the heel on the short "sport pegs" Rivco uses. If you're like me and like that position, I can see it being uncomfortable with the heel part of the heel-and-toe shifter.Might be worth waiting a a little bit...

I am your SENA & RIVCO Dealer

Hi
I installed the Rivco boards on my Spyder along with the road peg mounts, I am also a tall guy and boy
what a change they are super. I can not comment on the heal toe shifter on a Spyder I have the auto shift SE5
but I do have the heal toe on my GoldWing and it works great.

I always used a heel/toe shifter with my two-wheelers, but did not feel the need for my 2008 SM5. The other three :spyder2:,s were all SE5's--so no need there either.

hi dave,
i was beginning to think i was the only spyder owner in this area.....i have been thinking about a heel toe shifter myself...i have to think about it...
