• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RS Gel seat pad

I am thinking of purchasing a seat (GEL) pad to extend my ryding time (sore butt) between stops during long trips. Does anyone have a style, source...any recommendation?

Alaska Leather--Sheepskin butt pad. Can be ordered with or without gel pad.

Airhawk Cushion: no gel but air. Order from Dennis Kirk for best price and reasonable shipping.

Both places e-mail is businessname.com

I have an Airhawk but it made me feel like I was rolling all around on the seat....even with just a tiny bit of air in it.

On lots of 'super slab' riding it would probly work fine but not so well in the twisties.

I removed it, will use it on the tractor this summer.

gel pad

i use a pad that consists 3/4" gel, then memory foam, with a zip on cover of sheepskin. i used this on at least 10,000 miles of traveling and is supper comfortadle. can be found at shadetreepowersports.com, call toll free 888-742-3387. it also velcros to a seat stap for quick removal. it is named comfort-max my part no. was 89-208 enjoy.

Check out "Longeride.com". I've been pretty satisfied with it (it's called "Freedom Air Motorcycle Cushion"). It runs about $180 but has been worth it to me.

The 'Freedom Air Motorcycle Cushion" at "Longeride.com" claims to be about 70% effective as opposed to the Airhawk which is supposed to only be 25% effective. Everybody is a little different but the Freedom Cushion is the best I've run across.

I'm not quite sure what 75 and 25% refers to effective 75% of the time, 75% satisfaction??????

According to an article found on the longeride website, the Freedom Air Cushion is 75% more effective then a stock seat versus the Airhawk, which is only 25% more effective.

I was going to purchase an Airhawk until I found this thread and read about the Freedom Air cushion. I found one available on eBay for $127.49 (free shipping) and am thinking I will pull the trigger tonight.

Anyone else have a Freedom Air cushion who can provide some feedback?

Something to maybe try. Go to Wally world and buy a ATV cushion made by Coleman. They run around $20.00 bucks. The way they are made it lets air circulate under the butt and they also sit real nice too. My wife has one on her Spyder and I have one on my Valkyrie.

We tried the gel pro pad which was comfortable for cool weather riding. Hot summer riding with a gel pad is another story as it will make you sweat a nice big wet spot on your pants. We now use the air hawk cushions. The medium cruiser (14 x14 ) fits the front Corbin very well while the pillion required the
standard cruiser (18 x12 ). The freedom air cushion looks great. I like the open design in the front which would be more comfortable on private parts. The air hawk is great but that would be my only complaint, it seems the front of the cushion sometimes gets in the way requiring some re-positioning. Very little air is needed to be comfortable, too much and you will roll around on top.
