• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RTL - brake pad replacement intervals. Just replaced my pads at 21,000 miles. Is this a fair mileage?

I had to do a quick stop from about 45mph to make an on ramp. 2 up riding compressed the suspension enough that the bump skid hit! Now that's about a 4" drop!

I agree! But do it safely.

Find a quiet, straight stretch of roadway and do a few practice stops. Start with caution and work up to a full on panic stop in a few increments. It's good to know what you are going to get before you need it. It's a skill that will pay off in the long run.
I've found since I added even a 1-1/4" bar riser it helps keep better control under hard braking on an RT or S2S for me at 6 foot anyways. I get a bit better leverage to keep me in place on the seat.

I would also recommend folks practice this. It was one of the most enlightening parts of the BRP training course.

So far, fortunately, the one panic stop I've had to make just resulted in my wife slamming into me and banging helmets. She was not impressed.

If you ride two up I suggest you practice with your regular passenger in place so they know what it feels like too. It can possibly be even more alarming for them if they didn't see what you saw and weren't prepared for what you did.
