• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RTS SE Battery

Getting ready to add the harnesses for our Gerbings and am considering replacing the battery while I'm there with a nice fresh one for the winter riding rigors. So, what battery do most of us replace the factory battery with? Another stock battery or something exotic like an Oddesy(sp) or an Interstate. Now at 31K miles put on since 2-28-11, should anyone be curious.

Went through battery follies last year with the RT radio drain problem. Tests indicate there is about 50% battery life remaining. We ride year round down here, and yes the battery is on a maintainer whenever the Pyder is parked. This is not intended as a Q and A or solicitation of battery advice, I just wanted to know what others have done. Oh and yeah the Odyssey is a bit light, that's what knocked it out of the running considering the hight current drains that are to be added.

Pandy: no advice on battery and you prob know this but thot id' toss it in anyway. If you want an easy way to hook up the Gerbing...as well as taking if off if you have to...put the hot on the hot extention thats sticks up under the red cover, and drill small hole in the center metal frame for the ground, using a sheet metal screw to hold it.

Speaking of Gerbing, they have a mfg facility here in N.C. at Stoneville, just north of Greensboro, and sell all their products there as well. They recently warranted a pair of elect gloves I had which got a short in them with no questions. Good folks to deal with.
