• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sale/Discount Question

When a cycle retail dealership sells at a discount, are they cutting their profit, or does that reduce price come from the manufacture???

Just Curious

Unless the manufacturer is giving the dealership special discounts to pass onto consumers or discounts for being a high volume, special service, etc. dealership, any discounting one dealership gives over another is strictly coming out of their pockets.

When you say "discount", I am guessing you mean something less than MSRP.

It is nearly impossible to know what the dealers cost is on a vehicle - the salesman usually won't know and I know some car dealers who I have met, don't know either. Besides what Brian mentioned, there are things like advertising allowances and other incentives. They also have costs associated with inventory, storage, taxes, and other general business costs.

It takes a special breed of cat to run a successful ( business-wise ) dealership.
