• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thoughts? Yes, and they're all expensive. But first, when you say “when the throttle is off”, you mean with the engine running at idle? When you raise RPM just a bit, are you saying that the noise immediately disappears? Just asking if that’s what you meant and if that is significant. Plus, do you have any warning lights lit on the display with the engine running?

Hi Doug, the noise disappears when you open the throttle and there aren't any warning lights

Well, David. I suppose that the good news is that you don't have a Low Oil Pressure Warning Light on. But, that only deepens the mystery. Especially because it is so RPM sensitive - that's a bit weird. Would it be a metal-on-metal noise, or maybe some weird acoustic noise in your intake - especially if the air filter is one from 2013, or some foreign material in there. Is it something that just happened suddenly, or can you link it to some mod or maintenance activity that happened recently?

If it was mine, I would pull every panel off of BOTH sides - you know how noise can travel - and investigate. You're just going to have to get your head deep in there and try to narrow it down to a specific location on the engine. The bottom end of the right side of the engine is where all of the power train gears, chains and bearings are. Hope it's not that. Might be something as rare as this, just at a different RPM than the example listed. Good Luck.
