• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sena 20s talk time and multimode questions

#1 The Sena 20s claims 13 hours of talk time. I'm only getting about 6 hours talk time between two 20s units. After about 6 hours I loose connection with my other party. I can try and get it back, but I only stay connected a matter of seconds. I can still hear audio and my GPS through the unit so the battery is not completely dead. We begin each ride with our units fully charged. The other thing we do is connect with each other at the beginning of the ride and stay connected throughout the entire ride, until we can't connect with each other. We have two 20s's and I have the BRP SM10 bluetooth interface until installed on my bike. The only thing we do bike to bike is the intercom.

What is your talk time experience and do you have any suggestions on how to increase intercom talk time?

#2 If I have audio from my Spyder SM10 coming through my Sena 20s, when the other party talks to me through the intercom feature it never breaks in where I can hear them. I've tried adjusting the settings via the device manager, but I've not yet gotten it to work. All I have to do is turn my audio volume to off and I'll hear the other person via the intercom just fine. Any suggestions as I'd like this feature to work for me.

Thanks,
Rob

I have the 20s, I use it for music and share the music with my passenger, and use the intercom non stop and have never gotten less than 10 hours out of them. I have never lost connection as the battery gets low, it just says "low Battery" about 10 times, then shuts off. Make sure they are fully charged. I let mine charge overnight every night for every day we are on the road.

Each item you are listing to has its own separate volume. I adjust the music to my taste with the volume wheel, then have my wife talk to me over the intercom, as she talks I adjust the intercom volume with the same volume wheel until she is loud enough to hear. You must have the person continue to talk to keep the intercom circuit activated or yo will be turning up the volume of something other than the intercom. I also have to adjust the GPS, and the Sena voice promps the same way.

Once you get them adjusted to your liking the unit will go back to those settings next time you turn it on.

I also have the 20's. I can't comment on the battery issue because it hasn't happened, however the issue of the music lowering when using the intercom may well be addressed by 21.3 of the current user's guide which describes setting the intercom-audio Overlay sensitivity. You must also have audio multitasking enabled. I personally find that the easiest way to set the configuration is with the Sena app on my smart phone.

With this turned on, we don't leave the intercom running full time. We tap the jog button to initiate a conversation then again to end it. Otherwise someone will begin singing along to the music and trip the vox.

Good Luck!

Thank you. I have multitasking enabled and I've played with the sensitivity; still no change. I'll try the "tap" method to see if I get a different result.
