Sena headset with cell phone music app can't get loud volume

I am having a hard time getting enough volume using headset. I have a 2020 RTL, sena 20s and a Samsung S8 phone. I'm using a samsung music app. I have the volume on the phone at max. When I listen through the speakers I have the volume maybe 10 - 15 % and it is loud. when I which to headset I have to bring the volume to 90% to get the same loudness. I have the sena volume at max. I've look at everything, maybe someone else has solved this problem.

Yes, that sounds possible.
There are upgrades to the SENA 20s that allow greater volume.
One of them is the SENA software. You can enable the volume boost to increase the volume in the headset. This comes at the expense of battery life, but well worth it, in my opinion.
You can also physically upgrade the unit by replacing the speaker with the newest ones.

thanks for the reply. I have the latest sw all round on each unit. I also have Volume boast turned on, on the sena. I'm going to do some testing with Radio on bike and not use the phone. I want to know if the phone is the problem or the sena / rt is

I refreshed all BT connections .. Deleted phone and sena from RTL

Test with radio everything fine and phone and sync from RTL radio still fine, started music app everything worked great. Tried and different app everything was fine. The only difference on my 200 mile ride today was I have intercom with my buddy. I think that is the problem. The sena lets you set a different volume with intercom and music but I'm not sure I think that was the problem. I'll have to wait and get is helmet and test again

If you are unsure how to access Developer options and disable Absolute volume toggle, follow these instructions:

1 - Open Settings.
2 - Choose System.
3 - Open About phone.
4 - Locate the Build number and tap it 7 times in succession to enable Developer options.
5 - Now, you should see Developer options in Settings > System.
6 - Scroll down until you reach the Networking section.
7 - Once there, enable (toggle ON) the Disable absolute volume option.
8 - Reboot your device and you should have more control over the volume of Bluetooth devices.

If you're referring to jetfixers suggestion, you need to toggle it ON then reboot the phone. If you don't reboot the phone, the changed may not take effect.
