• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Six o-rings for an oil change?

Does this look like an excessive parts list for an oil change on a 1330 engine or have I been doing something wrong in the past? 1 copper washer, 6 o-rings, 1 gasket ring??

You have one too many #420950812. There are three O-rings for the oil filter, two O-rings for the oil sump drain plug and two crush washers, one for each drain plug. If you want to save some shekels you can buy complete kits from BajaRon that include all the O-rings, crush washers and a filter for $12.95 or so -- plus your oil. You should inspect each O-ring and you do not have to replace each of them on every oil change -- some dealers don't even do it. I check mine with a magnifying glass and had to replace only the lower one on the oil sump drain plug last time. You must change the crush washers each time you remove a drain plug. Skip this step and you risk a leak. Be advised the threads on the oil sump drain plug are very sharp and you should protect new O-rings by wrapping some masking tape on the threads before installing the new rings.

:agree: 100%

Do not buy these, they are in-expensive, don't leak, and I have been told they are re-usable FIBER-WASHERS! Mike

I just had my 9000 mile service done and it cost $91.26 for o rings and oil. Sounds like I should go to BajaRon from now on

I raced motorcycles for years... almost never changed the "crush" sealing oil drain plug washers... use some fine sandpaper and lie the "crush" sealing washer on a flat surface and rub it in circular motion on both sides ... if you notice most new cars do not have "crush washers" on the oil drain plugs ...
if you feel you must change oil drain plug sealing washers... go to Lowes they sell COPPER washers for 37 cents each ....

Only the green lower O ring part# 420430115 on main oil drain plug needs a new one for 1330 engine oil changes.
Both my 2014 RT SE6 & 2015 F3S SE6 green O rings were found torn (from the factory), when I did first oil changes.
A torn green O ring will affect servo pressure, shifting.
I always have a new spare green O ring on hand when changing oil on 1330 engine; ($8.49 for green O ring #420430115).
Put oil on drain plug threads before gently rolling on new green O ring.
(I have not used any other O ring from $120 set I bought Feb 2014 for 2014 RT 1330 engine).

When I did my oil change about a month ago the green O-ring was the only one I needed to change. It had a very fine slit in the green cover around the entire outer circumference, actually came off in two pieces.

there is a place here that has just about every o-ring made named Blue Water rubber & gasket .. I bought a bunch of them for my spyder ... some of them were .15 each.. even the large one was under a dollar.. I won't ever buy any from a BRP dealer..
