I get to RMS to look for a tank-bag for my 2011 RS, I found a very nice one and purchased.
On my way out I noticed this shiny, pearl-white 2012 RTL with a "sale" ballon tethered to the handle bar. I thought I recognized it as the one a lady rider I met about 2 months ago, returned.
This lady had asked me to test ride it for her, she said it handled funny, the brakes felt wrong and it had over heated on her twice the day she bought it, because the fan had not been connected when she picked up the bike.
I drove the bike and found the handling to be OK, as well as the brakes. She was a new Spyder owner so she was not really used to the machine. Also, a couple of mechanic friends had advised her to return the bike because the over heating problem might come back to haunt her when the Spyder gets older. I learned later that indeed, she had returned the Spyder to RMS.
Since I'm looking to upgrade to a RT so talked to a sales man. I asked him if this bike had been returned and he looked surprised I knew. When I asked for a price he went consulting with the manager and returned to tell me they did not have a price because there were some title issues. They'd be able to call me back with a quote in about a month (????).
I told him it seemed funny the bike was in such a prominent place of their show room with a ballon if it was not for sale. He replied it had been a mistake and they were gonna put it now in the storage room (????).
I wonder if anyone else has received a different answer
