• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sorry, BUT I'm OUT

My sincere thanks to all the folks who have attempted to help me resolve the myriad problems with my 2012 Spyder RT SE5. Unfortunately, my health has continued to deteriorate to the point where I can no longer physically work on the bike, and I won't be "allowed" to ride for some time. The bike is "down", and I can do nothing about it. This group dedicated to Can Am Spyders (and their other products) has been a blessing to me, and I sincerely thank everyone who has offered their assistance. I'll have to sell my Spyder, and since its in a non-operating condition, I'm not sure of the best path to take, but I'll persevere. GOD bless you all.

I'm only thinking that I might be able to help. Depending on where @solidgranite lives. I'm hoping I can. We'll see if he gets back to me.

Very impressed that others want to be a part of this. However this goes, I want to say thank you guys. Not much heart-warming news these days. But we don't have to wait for someone else to make things better if we can take care of it ourselves.

For me, this is what America is all about. Sitting around waiting for the authorities to take care of us is self defeating. Just my 2 Cents. Worth less than what it costs.

I'm in Elizabeth City 27909. Northeast corner of NC about an hour from the "Hampton Roads" area of Virginia, and about 45 mins. from the Outer Banks.
Thank you for the reply. Please don't give out any more specific information here on the public portion of the forum. Sadly, it's just good practice these days.

You are a long way from me or anywhere I need to be. The closest I get is Charlotte, and I plan to be there on Wednesday. I was really hoping that we could work something out. And we still might, but it's a stretch. I'll let you know.

Just a bit further to that ^^ if any other SpyderLovers are a bit closer than BajaRon and think they can maybe help in some way - ANY way, but don't want to post up publicly, either drop @solidgranite a DM, or if you prefer, send me a DM & I'll co-ordinate a response. Let's see what we can do to help here. (y)

I am in the Raleigh area. Don’t know much about the mechanics of working on them, but have a garage and could possibly call on some friends to help. In fact, we are looking at doing a tech day in September to enlighten some of us who would like to learn more about the spyder

Did you test or replace the Main relay 2 as I suggested? If you can't work on it yourself, maybe a friend could help.

Seeing these replies really make me feel better about the human race. With all the bad and stupid things going on in our world this is a breath of fresh air. I am 78 with a bad heart so there is not much I can do but I will pray for good results for Solidgranite and all the folks willing to help. Miracles happen every day.

Yes, they certainly do.

My suggestion is to trailer solidgranite's spyder to Greenville for a proper diagnosis. If the repair costs are reasonable for that vintage machine, then we all can divvy up what solidgranite can't cover. JMHO

+1 on the divvying-up idea.
I'm way out in AZ and with limitations from surgery, but could help with some of the costs...

That would be great. I was hoping he might be close enough to go pick it up myself. But with the workload, etc. He's just too far away. I have to go to Charlotte Wednesday to pick up and order of shocks. But he's still a long way from there. If someone does decide they can do this. Or even meet us at somewhere (1/2 way or something) I just need to know so we can coordinate.
