There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Spark plug replacement

Doing the 14k service and with all the talk about plugs and wires, I'm getting new sets from Ron.

Read a lot about the struggle to get the wire caps off, especially the front one. Got my cap pullers and they both popped off easy. Tried to pull them with my hands and they didn't budge. These pullers did it easily. Getting the air filter funnel thing out was harder. :-)

Now to wait for new parts.

FYI for the front cylinder super important!
Before removing the plug blow out the hole with compressed air!!! Lots of debris gets in there like rocks and sand.
You don't want that stuff to fall into the cylinder!
Got this tip from a BRP tech.

Having trouble getting the boots to snap into the plugs. Ive got the Accer black wires from BajaRon and they have long red boots. It's very difficult to get the wire to go more into the boot and now that I have the wire in place, it's even more difficult to work with. Any ideas??

Update: Ron told me to use WD40 to be able to slide the wires into the boot. I also used some pliers to grip the wire so I could move the boot. Hope this works.

Thanks

This is one of the two plugs I removed. They look like they were really hot compared to the Goldwing plugs I'm used to.

Need a pic from the top, but from what I can see that plug looks really good. Nice color. Hot plugs will be stark white, almost new looking with blistering porcelain.

I agree. From what we can see this one looks fine. The Spyder, (and most modern engines) run pretty lean which increases combustion chamber temperatures. This is why using Thermal Paste on the spark plug threads is so important. It helps the plug dissipate heat to the cylinder head.

I too had a bit of trouble when I put on Ron's wires. I could not tell if I had them down all the way!

What I did was pull the plug and then put the wire boot in the hole to see "about" how far down they should be.
Then put the plug back in and pushed until the wire boot was down about the same as I had measured.
