I have to turn in my vacation date pics at work tomorrow....well, Monday if I am not ready ;)

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good spyder rides going on. (I know there aren't any bad ones:doorag:)

Last year hubby and I went from St. Louis to Dallas to Phoenix to Grand canyon up to Grand Juntion, CO and home on I70 ... but I was on the back of his wing. The best part was from Mesa, AZ(Phoenix) to Jerome, AZ. :2thumbs: You can see our trip at http://www.flickr.com/photos/clonspyderlady/collections/72157603710464663/

We are looking for a trip out east this year. Maybe through the tennesee mountains. We would love to go up to the northeast and maybe into Canada and back.

This time I will be on my spyder!!:spyder:

Anyway, I would love to hear or see some suggestions!:2excited:
thanks!

Hi TerriBull. The 2009 version of "Spyders in the Smokies" will take place from September 21 - 25, 2009 in Gatlinburg, TN. This event was a lot of fun in 2008, so please feel free to put it in your calendar.

Cheers,

Bruce

:2excited::2excited:WOW!! that was very quick! Do you know any of the roads that will be ridden? I love Gatlinburg!! Do you know how many spyders are attending so far? How did you know about this? Is there a registration? Is there a web site?:2excited::2excited:

Not sure the roads but there are plenty to go on around there. I am sure we will hit the normal deals gap and tail of the dragon again. Good stuff.

Terribull, you can find out more about it at the following link:

http://www.spydertalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8197

You can also read about the 2008 event on the SpyderRyder BRP website:

http://spyder.brp.com/en-US/Share/Community/Team-Blog/Blog.html

There were quite a few Spyders in Gatlinburg. I was not one of the organizers, so I can't give you an exact count. Whatever the number, I expect there will be more in 2009. In 2008, Lamont was kind enough to hold an evening barbeque at his home during the event. He and his wife were truly hospitable. Thanks again for that evening, Lamont. :2thumbs:

I am a moderator on the SpyderTalk forum, but I like to contribute to SpyderLovers as well. The more information and knowledge we can all share about the Spyder, the better, as far as I am concerned. I am also a member of the SpyderLovers club.

Also, you should be aware that BRP is planning another gathering similar to the Homecoming that was held in June 2008. However, the exact dates and location have not yet been released. Like you, I need to know pretty soon, as I have to pick vacation time for 2009 at work as well.

Won't be a problem having him along Terribull. I rode my Kawasaki Concours to the first Spyders in the Smokies rally, since it took place several weeks before I took delivery of my :spyder:. We found that Spyders and motorcycles actually mix pretty well! ;)

Rides

Terri,

My wife and I both ride Spyders and we live in Peoria, Illinois. We like riding down your way for a short weekend trip. We always stop at Fast Eddies when we go down. I'm sure we'll be down there in the spring. We have a Toy Hauler and stay at the Pere Marquette State Park. Maybe you can show us some rides in that area.
