Are you thinking of trading or selling it outright? For what year and model?
a 2011 RTL under 25k miles is bringing about $21,000
A typical problem with all motorized vehicles. Motorcycles in particular lose value quickly, accessories are even worse. 10 to 50% is what you find on used accessories.
Just like a car, figure you have lost 25% when you drive it off the lot. A 2014 was advertised and sold for $23K in three days or so. It had only 500 miles and some accessories on it.
I see I have lost $3K in two years on the 2011 and I purchased it for a couple thousand under list when it was new and a year old (2012).
As an investment, the Spyder sucks. As a fun machine to ryde--its great.
As others have said, m/c lose a lot of value immediately upon sale. As for resale Spyder owners are probably much the same as I found with Goldwing owners, most are convinced their machine is worth 20% more than what buyers are willing to pay. That's why back in 2006 I bought a new leftover 2005 GL1800 for not much more than what most sellers were asking for years older GL1500 and 1800s.Either or honestly lol. I have a '12 rs and it seems hard to push for 11k. Not sure honestly if that is a good range or not. I feel it is worth 11k.
:bbq:What on your thoughts of Spyders keeping their value? Seems our babies loose their value quickly!
Any motor vehicle you buy loses a large percentage as soon as you drive it off the lot. Doesn't make any difference what it is.
