• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Had one dart out in front of me today while doing 55 mph on a 2 lane road with breakfast in the frunk. All I could do to avoid crushing the cute little rat Bast*$#...

To quote george constanza, "I thought we had an agreement with them..."
... of course george was talking about pigeons that dont move out of your way.

In any case, that little guy almost caused me a lot of trouble...

That is what spydercowboy has always called squirrels .... several years ago, when both of us were on two wheelers, the following was a common scenario:

  • Spydercowboy in the lead on his BMW K100LT and me riding behind on my BMW K75LT (custom built, BMW didn't offer a touring K75 at the time).
  • Squirrel runs out into the road and "sees" the K100LT, darting quickly back to the edge of the road.
  • K100LT moves past and squirrel thinks is it safe ... NOT! :yikes:
  • Squirrel then runs back into the road and right UNDER me (in between the two tires).

That BMW was one squirrel killing machine! nojoke

Sorry..!!

must be an east coast thing. If I have seen 5 squirrels since we moved here two years ago its to many. We do have other creatures who are not as quick. But have to agree, stay your course. Love animals but also humans..well maybe not all humans..!! :roflblack:

We had our chance at a rabbit today, but it moved out of the way at the last moment in time. I will avoid them if possible, but will not cross the center line or go off the road to avoid the small stuff.

Rolled a corvair three times trying to miss a groundhog.Missed the little burger and only got a few scratches.Corvair did not fair so well!

I've nailed my share ... last one I thought I had straddled him ... forgot the back wheel ...:yikes:

:cus: happens! LOL! I fed the local squirrels a ton of corn this last winter; they are cute and all, but if one jitter bugs out in front of me..................it sucks to be him. :gaah:

JUST A SMALL BUMP IN THE ROAD.......

Squirrels' They make good food for Crows, And the Crows have to eat too, So If you can't avoid them,Then tenderize them...:roflblack:

Squirrels can do a lot of damage when they get hit at high speed. That's one reason why have deer whistles on my Spyder. I haven't had one problem with squirrels or other animals on the road, they get out of my way. I have them on everything I drive. That's IMHO.

My husband swears I'm a killing machine. I've hit and killed at least three birds in flight, a snake (not an easy one to catch), several squirrels, a LARGE frog, a bunny, couple of raccoons (the big one kinda "crunched" :gaah:), an oppossum, and two deer! Of course, most of these were hit while driving the cage, but still! :yikes: I was leaving the subdivision this morning and saw a squirrel laying on it's back, feet up in the air, on the road. My first thought was "I don't remember hitting that one". I've seen the after effects of swerving to miss a small animal, and I just call myself part of "natural selection". The dumb ones just don't make it.:lecturef_smilie:

We are heading up to Michigan's UP this weekend on the Spyders. I hope there isn't anything migrating at this time of year.

:agree: You're best hitting them dead on.... don't swerve. Slow down if you can. Same goes for deer, etc. Better to hit an object that will move when you hit it instead of a tree that won't!
