• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Strange Town Names

The US is LOADED with cities and towns with odd or unusual names. The links below list most of them but I'm sure there are others that just never made it to the Big Time.

I thought it might be fun to start a forum where SpyderRyders could do runs in their area and post pictures of these places. The photo would have to include the name (city sign, building, store...anything that has the name of the town). Anyone up for it?

I'm in. Are you going to host the albums, or do we set them up independently. Might be a good thing for the state forums if you can't get a separate location. My 2¢.

I think the photo should also have to include the Spyder along with the sign!

Sounds like fun :2thumbs:
Texas has a lot of town names that would make the list.

Uncertain, TX
Cut and Shoot, TX
Gun Barrel City, TX

Well, you get the idea..:D

I know there's a Gnaw Bone, IN, but I haven;t been able to find it, been thru it a few times, too. How about Larry Byrd's home town, French Lick? I forgot about Beanblossom, they have a bikerfest there.

Could also expand it to include any strange signs--- here's a state park in Kentucky that I've actually been to.....

Too funny.

Sure...why not? Anyplace that's a bit "off the wall." No billboards or advertisements though. Should be an official town, city, county or state sign.

I agree that the Spyder should be in the picture too. As for where to host the pics, I think I'll ask Lamont. Afterall, it's his web site...we just borrow it from time to time. :roflblack: Maybe a sub-forum to the Off the board section?

I think the pics needs to be in one spot. Otherwise we'll have them spread out everywhere. I also think that the GPS coords should be in the caption in case others want to go there.

Believe it or not, but here in Wisconsin we have the "Bong Recreation Area". For whatever reason, it is always crowded on April 20th. :D

There's a town in MI where you can get "Gay Fire Department" shirts, guess what the town's name is.

Looking at the Missouri list I have had the Spyder to 6 of them already, and Irish I rode thru one of them with you after the USO Run.

I'm glad a lot of you think this will be fun too.

Lamont...is there a place we can post the pics so that they don't slow down the server or clog the forum?

We are on the other side of the country, but sounds cool. Know we passed through a few odd/interesting ones on our journey. Did I take a picture? Of course not, except for that Florida, Mass sign on some hill I can't recall back in the East.

It's too far for me, but somebody's gotta hit Wall, SD!

I'm shooting for China Grove, TX at lunch tomorrow.:ohyea: Hope there's a place for the photos...

Oh yeah Pennsylvania is loaded with strange/funny names of cities and towns.

Wish I had a spyder to join in on this fun.
