Sitting around and the brain begins to zip around. I was thinking back to when I traded my 2017 Harley Ultra for my first Spyder- 2020 RTL. I had to drive about 275 miles back home. The first few miles were a definite wake up call. Several times I had thoughts that this was a mistake.
With the RTL driver position of sitting on top of bike, I always had feeling that centrifugal force was going to win out and throw me off. Another sensation to get used to was the three different surfaces that the wheels were making contact with, as opposed to the single track of the two wheelers.
After riding on all types of road surfaces and elevations, I began to understand the many differences between a two wheel vs a three wheel bike experience. Once I forgot all the years of riding on two wheels and began to let the three wheel feelings become second nature, I was ok.
My biggest positive change was going to the F3L series. The F3's give the rider more of a two wheel feeling, as now you are sitting down into the bike and the riding experience is, in my opinion, much better than the RTL.
I am now on my third Spyder. After riding all over the country and all kinds of roads, mountains, deserts and weather, I can say that it was a good choice for me. I keep the bikes basically stock - except for those darn struts that do not function holding up the rear storage lids! The suspension and OEM tires works for me.
Ok, back to your regular program..
