• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well it's been a miserable couple of weeks here at Chez-Denman... The insurance adjuster has kept us twisting on a knife blade while he pondered the wreckage of my bike and its worth.
Yesterday afternoon the clouds lifted and the Angel's Choir began to be heard above the noise... (No; I didn't have a heart attack!:shocked:) The little S.O.B. finally called and said that everything was approved and the check would be issued! :ohyea::yes: WOO-HOO :2thumbs:
Now if we can only get it fixed and home before the snow starts falling in earnest...
 
Glad that your through with the BS from the insurance company. Hope that the bike is better than new when its done. Good luck with it!
 
Thanks! :) We sent the estimate up to him back on 10/15/2011... Took him over 2 weeks to actually take a peek at it... :gaah:
The silliest part of this whole deal is that I sell their insurance in my office and have been pretty successful at selling it; My claims experience with them may just color my perceptions a bit though... :lecturef_smilie:
 
I was wondering about the insurance angle--since I knew you were an agent and know all the ins and outs.

Most insurance companies love to take your money--but when its comes claim time, its "Bob" who?

I have always had good luck with my company on the few claims that I have had with them since 1965. They have all my insurance.

Hope everything goes well for you, but I'm a pessamist when it comes to insurance claims.I had a head on collision with a peditricain many, many years ago and it was not pretty trying to get my car fixed. He had crossed the center line and hit me head on in a really bad snow storm. We were on our way home from work. 2 troopers were dispatched to the crash scene 1 interviewed me and 1 him. Trying to make this a short version of the story...The trooper that was interviewing me asked why I didn't avoid the accident by going left or right and that if had the last chance to avoid the accident and I didn't take it I was partially at fault. Later I asked #2 trooper interviewing the doctor if he gave him a ticket he was very incredulous with me saying he couldn't possibly give him a ticket because of the terrible weather. Because of that the doctors insurance company was balking on payment and I had to get my car fixed on my collision and my insurance got paid later from the other insurance company. At the end of that year my insurance company cancelled me because of the accident even though it was not my fault and I had never had another claim since I had been with them from the time I got my first car. I had to go on an assigned risk policy and ended up paying for the damages+ to my car. :( You are already better off than I was back then though!! Good luck again.

It's with American Modern Home...
The check is supposed to be on the way next week... I'd like to hope that the bike will be done by the end of the month so that I can ryde it home!

NO WAY IN :cus: it will be done in a month. :lecturef_smilie: Have you ever ordered parts before from BRP ??? DOC is over 85 days and counting for a engine rebuild. You will need alot more parts than Doc.

I will be glad to eat my words and hope for your sake I'm wrong, but I'm thinking you should start bracing yourself.

From what I remember the bikem looking like I'm betting ( hopefully wrong ) that it will be mid Jan at the earliest. They'll get every part cept the one little piece that keeps the whole thing from coming together and it will be on back order . Sure hate to be a pessimist but been there and done that. Sure hope you get it afore the deep white stuff hits .

Had an insurance company for 30 years , no claims and then had an accident with a new truck. They dropped me so fast it was pathetic. My paid premiums were more than the repair costs but they deemed me an at risk driver. I had multiple policies with them including my house and they couldn't understand why I cancelled the other policies.

having been an insurance agent for approaching 35 years now I've heard that all before about folks getting non-renewed for one claim... Thankfully it's not allowed to happen these days. :thumbup:

Yeah... That one little widget that holds the Johnson rod tight against the trim during high-G maneuvers... THAT'S the one that'll be on permanent backorder! :gaah:
