• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The world is changing

i don't see a problem with it, years ago when i was in my early 20's i was dating a young spanish girl. now back then my dad had a lot to say about it, but today it is not frowned on much at all

Is this just a reminder of how racist we were not that long ago?

Who were the original half wits that outlawed interracial marriages?

Great thread

This is the type of thread I am happy to read these days. I wish more people had this attitude when it comes to love. I am married to a Spanish woman, She has brought out the best in me like no other. Yes the world is changing and I only hope people are willing to change with it. We are all in the same boat.

Now, would I fall under the Asian/White category, or the Asian/ Spanish-Italian category? Or, possibly the Asian/Spanish-Italian-Spyderlovers category?

Honestly: who gives a crap? :dontknow:
"categories" serve no purpose other than to divide us...
The point of this thread seems to be that the importance of those categories; is disappearing! :D

I dont understand the point of the OP. I hope they didnt see it as a negative thing. I love seeing diversity! Makes the world a friendlier place when people of different races fall in love.

I was kind of wondering that as well. I think it shows that in spite of how some people want to keep agitating, for the vast majority of people in "The West", ethnic background just doesn't matter. Race is a misnomer as we're all part of the human race and, unfortunately, in some parts of the world marrying (or even dating) outside of your "place" is just not done.

This is Awesome!

I think this is exciting! The way it should be! And I am pretty sure that the OP, Jerry, posted it for the same reasons, we are progressing as ONE race!

If there are no categories, there is no survey, and no percentages. The original post was based on a percent. If categories bothers you, let's call it cultural backgrounds. Before JerryB comes back, I never said there was anything wrong with the original post, other than I was trying to determine his point, as it seems others had the same question.

Now, back to The Handmaid's Tale. See you later.

Hi Pirate & all of you,

Re: And I am pretty sure that the OP, Jerry, posted it for the same reasons, we are progressing as ONE race!

^^^^ This. You could not be more correct.

well i can't speak for others but i am glad i married an american girl, she moved to long island after college, cuzn &
taxmeiser know my american pie wife.

I'm happy for you both. But the OP is about ethnicity and/or race. "American" doesn't indicate either one of those. Or, to put it another way, "American" could indicate anything.

By "american pie wife" are we to assume some particular race? I wouldn't!

 I guess that I've always been a bit of a simpleton about these sort of things... :opps:
I grew up in about as "Whitebread" a community, as you can find. We have two Churches United Methodist, and Dutch Reformed. When I graduated High School (All those years ago...), the School had an enrollment of 1200 kids, and only one of them wasn't white.
Off to College I go: wide-eyed, and ignorant as Hell! :D
WOW! Talk about an eye-opener! nojoke
But I learned something: the Black guys down at the end of our Hall were really decent guys. They liked music (KILLER quadraphonic system in their room...), they played intramural sports, they even went to at least as many classes as I did. (Although my attendance record has been expunged for security reasons!)
In short: they were just like me! (Only taller, and better-looking!)
So I learned a valuable lesson that wasn't listed on my diploma:
Folks are just folks: what you make of it is your own problem!
