• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This is interesting. A tilting reverse trike kit.

Well....

This one has been around for a while. But you are right there are quite a few kits and posible future reverse trikes out there. I fear they will be more disappointing to a two wheeler that the spyder is. Well as far as leaning...you know the spyder will not lean so you relearn ryding but with those they will expect it to lean as well as their two wheeler...:dontknow:

Messed up was trying to add a link. It was a road test between a Spyder, Tilting road works Harley, and a Piaggio 3 wheeler. Very interesting. And they really liked the Spyder.
It's on utube. " Three Wheeler Threeway" check it out.

It's fun to "peek over the fences". :D
Personally: I think that it adds the bulkiness of a trike, to the "fall-over-ability", of a two-wheeler... nojoke

Why the desire to lean? Can someone explain? I guess for the need for speed riders you can make a tighter turn?

Because riding on two wheels is about 100x more exciting than riding a Spyder. I own a Spyder, and I enjoy it, but a Spyder is different than riding two wheels. It's like why a Ferrari is more exciting than a Camry.

:agree: that nothing beats the feeling of "scraping the chrome" in a long sweeper.
What would the advantage of a leaning Spyder be? :dontknow:
If you want to lean: own a "leaner".

I would love to own that bike "BUT" the main reason I bought my Spyder was Reverse with COPD any manual movement on a 2 wheeler was to much for my lungs and a 10 minute break was required to catch my breath, ya you could add reverse to a Harley but a friend just bought a new Harley trike and when he went to leave my house the other day he put his Electric Reverse in action and it sounded like my coffee grinder straining to make it through the grind as it moved back at 1 to 2 mph, I would be embarrassed to use that in front of anyone. Thanks but the F3 Spyder was the right choice for me.

Good you tube vid - thanks for the link as not seen that before.

The most intersting thing in that video is how they all end up saying how much they like the F3 when they are recounting what it has over the other two. Cruise, auto gears, comfy seat. heated grips, etc etc. And it's evident that they almost seem surprised how much they like the F3 once they come to think about it. Just shows how it's becoming more mainstream.

I had an MP3 and the tilt lock was far too slow to engage coming to a stop and too quick to disengage when pulling off. Mine spent a lot of time on the ground!! You basically need to be able to ride a two wheeler to use one of those.

The TMW conversion is interesting, especially if the tilt lock works properly, but as already stated it's never going to get many sales at $13K plus a harley.

I would be interested in BRP making an F3 with some tilt at speed, but with self levelling/tilt lock at low speeds. It would be a non-starter for me if it could fall over. I just can't see it ever happening though due to cost and complexity.

well another reverse trike kit. This one really looks like fun. We are seeing more and more of these, plus we have the neowing fron Honda coming. Competition is good. Hope BRP pays attention.
It's actually not "another" one, but rather one of the earliest of the most recent. The conversion was available for testing on Harley's in 2010 or 2011, or maybe earlier. Had he had the conversion ready and in production for the Goldwing in 2012 I would have considered buying one, but Bob Mighell told me he was concentrating on getting the Harley version into production first. He did have a design for the Goldwing, but that was it.

It is not a DIY kit. You have to get your bike to TMW for them to do the conversion.

I'm not convinced that the tilting feature is particularly beneficial over the non-tilt, but it may be.
