There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Throttle sticking... whats next step?

Looking for some input... my SM5's throttle sticking. This happened once on my last bike and we just cleaned the cable and she was good to go... my question though is on a spyder is cleaning the cable a place to start or is it better to just replace the cable and skip the trouble shooting.
Plus, is this a trip to the dealer or an owner thing like we did on the vulcan?

Lubricating the cables (there are two) is a good place to start. Also look for interference with the control pod or the handlebar cap, especially if you have changed grips. Beyond that you have to look at the throttle tube itself, the throttle body, or the entire length of the cables.

sticking throttle

On my 2008 GS/RS I had a problem with the throttle sticking after I installed a throttle lock. It turn out that there was some binding between the grip and the lock. Had to remove the grip and then re-cement it. While I had everything apart I did lubricate the heck out of it and the cables. No more sticking.

The only thing I did grip wise was add Grip Puppies, I dont think that should do anything, should it? The Grip Puppies are tight, a true *&** to get on even with the suggested soapy water. I will say though, they are worth it, not so much vibration felt in my hands.

If your Grip Puppies extend over the end cap on the handlebar, they will act as a kind of throttle lock, comes in handy on the Interstae, but you have to remember it's there.:D

I agree, Its the grip puppies pushed against the switch gear. It has to be peeled back a little.

I agree, it's probably the grip puppies. Inspect each end, and make sure they don't touch the control pod or the bar end cap. Then grip the handlebars and check again. Be sure and check all around, and operate the throttle as you inspect when gripping. It is possible they are only hitting in one small place.
