I need a new mud flap for my BRP hitch but I can't figure out if it is sold separately or just as part of the trailer hitch and control module kit part #[h=4]219400432? Has anyone ever replaced theirs and do you know the part # for the flap only? Thanks.[/h]

Hey Ann! I just went thru this and it can be purchased separate. I upgraded to the 2015 RT-S intense pearl and had Dealer order just trailer wiring. Parts Guy said he could order individual items. I saved $250 by keeping hitch. I have the wiring Part #s if you need them.

Naw Ann, you will have to buy a whole new hitch!:joke: You would think you could buy it separately, but then. It is way too low I think. Do you have Spyderpops (Harvey's) rooster tail preventer. It works well. Will do some research and see if it is available.

Ann ..........Value accessories ( a vendor here ) has a nice one for $ 87.00.......................Mike

Somewhere in the garage I have a rooster tail eliminator............I had to take it off to use a hitch box carrier when I went to FL. Even with the rooster tail I think it looks better with the mud flap. I bought this hitch used and the screw holes on the mudflap were ripped out.

I'll check out Value Accessories. Thanks. HappySpyder I'll send you a PM

Hitch Price

Guys, Gals! You all seem to have experience with Spyder trailer hitches. I am going to have one installed at a local dealer. What would your best estimate be for purchasing the hitch, wiring harness, and have the dealer install it? Would be the BRP hitch?

Also, I am thinking of buying a trailer (not BRP) that uses a '5 flat' wiring connector. Is it a big deal to have the Spyder dealer provide a harness that will connect to this trailer type? Thanks in advance!!

The BRP hitch comes complete with everything you need to install. It's the wiring that takes around 2 hrs to install. Depending on dealer hourly rate. hitch part 5 min or less to install or remove. The pricing of kit that can be found on Amazon,Ebay-ect somewhere around 450 to 510.

Thanks Happy!! My dealer gave me a very good price and said they would have to make up a wiring harness for whatever trailer I selected, but they would have to know the exact wiring layout that the trailer connector used. I guess that makes sense.
Question: The normal wiring harness with the hitch probable has the BRP 4-Square connector. Would it be easier to just find the correct adaptors on the web to allow connection between the 4-Square and the 5-Flat, or just have the dealer make a harness that will work? This is all new to me!
Thanks again!

Ann,

I think I have a mud flap that came with my hitch and would gladly send it to you or bring it Spyderfest to you. I decided not to use mine since I already had a mud flap on the bike before I installed my hitch.

If you are interested let me know and I will go on a hunt to make sure I kept it.

If you still have it and don't mind bringing it to Spyderfest I will gladly pay you for it. Thanks.

I made one myself from a thick truck mudflap. I didn't like the open gaps so I cut another piece that mounts to the bottom bolt of the rivco flag holder. The mount for the glad is one I made and also in the photo is the mount for the PakitRak I use.

First Welcome to the forum. You may get all the answers you need by starting a new thread on your hitch install instead of hijacking this one. It makes it easier to stay on topic.
