• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

WanNa rAcE?

Oh yeah..!!

when you drove there, white washed a number on the car, raced it, then washed and drove home if was still drivable. Had to operate the clutch and shift and do it at the right moment. Many times that was all the difference between winning and coming in second...:thumbup: great times...

Pretty cool, but..... how has this changed!

My current "street" car would smoke most of the cars in that video.

Most racing here now takes place late night...and w much cash involved.

Usually the quiet muscle cars win, but in the last couple years you have to be weary....there are Subarus and some ricers out there w $90,000 in their cars pushing 850 HP on the street out of 4 bangers.

At times hard to tell what you are up against.

I like a good stoplight to stoplight, but at night on the interstate...when cash is involved it gets tricky.

First you have to know that you know that you know this guy isnt a cop at first!

Then look at the tires...dead give away.... If the subaru has 4 almost bald Drag radials....well...just back down...LOL

Other little clues out there...just a different ball game these days.

We have a local state cop right now in a Mustang that is smoooooking the guys on the interstate. Pretty funny.

Gotta know how to play the game....and who to play it with.

Those guys on the show from Oklahoma w the car races are all set up and hollywood...bunch of paid punks....real life is much better lol

Some of the latest street racers are pushing 1200 HP from what I hear....crazy!

.

Thanks so much for sharing good memories. Some cars nowadays maybe faster but they did not sound nowhere near as good!

That is a great point!

W today's technology and fuel injection...perfect timing...the ways cams are designed...you just don't get the COOL sound anymore :(

Things are so efficient that they make crazy horsepower now , but you lose all the great sound sometimes.

I have people ask me to rev up my car at times... :opps: not really loud, not really cool....but can smoke the lastest $125,000 Corvette all day long roflmao

Manufacturers of Muscle cars need to work on the sound output roflmao

around 1969 at midnight

there was a 4 lane leading out of the Atomic Energy plant.. there was me..1968 390 AMX 4 speed.(which I still have) ...a 396 El Camino .. a 427 Mustang... a 1968 302 Z 28.. and a Boss 429 Mustang...side by side.. 5 cars in 4 lanes.. I got off slow because i was fishtailing ..but caught up.. don't know who won.. because we all did.. all 4 speeds.. and it sounded like a rifle cracking every time we shifted....good times

Back in the late '60s used to sneak into the old Puyallup Dragway south of Seattle and watch that stuff all the time. Good times!
