• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What Loud Horns are available for Spyders?

I have the same horn and so far it's the only option I've considered. No issues with mine for the past couple years.

On a side note, I've never used my horn as much as this May and June with a few close calls. Perhaps a year of pandemic and not driving many places, drivers just aren't looking out for motorcycles and smaller vehicles. I'm pretty sure that horn has saved my life a couple times.

drivers now have not idea where they are and what their doing and only want to get there asap, so get out of my way attitude.

I put duel trumpets in a couple of weeks ago because I was fed up with the mep mep horn. I scared the hell out of a guy yesterday as he started to change lanes without looking.

Don't believe all the specs you see in an advertisement without using critical thought. 300dB - not possible. Why? Because a Saturn V rockets measured 220 db, while the space shuttle comes up at 215, on launch. Is that horn louder than a rocket? Highly doubtful.

We have dual Bad Boy horns mounted on the frames of our F3 models. My buddy, Kevin, suggested using the standard frequency (500 - 600 Hz) along with the 300 Hz model to get the train horn effect. Both are wired into a 40 amp relay, directly to the battery. Is it the loudest? I don't have data to support that statement. Does it get attention? Dang certain it does!

Any pics of the installation? thx

Are these the two horns you're referring to Wayne? They don't provide frequencies of each, but the 619 has the deeper sound and may be the 300hz one you mention.

I had a Denali Soundbomb on my GS. I kept the stock horn and got a very loud and attention getting sound. It was wired so my driving lights (5000 lumens each) strobed when the horn went off. Good sound and good lighting is very important!

Anyone use these from Wolo? I'm presently using the Wolo Bad Boy and the Bad Boy Max together and they are great except together they draw 30 amps or so and have been known to blow 20 amp fuses.

These from Wolo draw 15 amps. https://wolo-mfg.com/horns/motorcycle-horns/air-horn/model-415-mc-airsplitter-mc.html

That's what I have on my 2014 RTS. Here are a couple of pics when I put them on my 2013 RT. The horn mounting is exactly same on my 2014, but the compressor install was a lot easier because there is much more room under the lower tupperware than was on the 2013. They are about as loud as any you will find anywhere. Having them out in the open helps with the sound level also. I used a separate relay connected to the OEM horn circuit. I also left the OEM horn in place and connected. The instructions say to use an air tube no longer than about 8" but in my case the the tube to the right side horn is about 2' long. I have not noticed any detectable delay or lack of pressure due to the longer than specification air tube.

Annnnnndddd, I think they are neat looking!! :2thumbs: I don't know why more owners haven't used them. The only downside to using them like I did is you have two holes in the tupperware on each side. To overcome that when you sell the bike is leave the horns on!

I installed the Motohorn 2.0 that Lamonster sells. Saved my A$$ a couple of weeks ago on 95 near Savannah.

Had a cage not paying attention and started drifting into my lane to come over without a signal, hit the horn for a 2 second blast.

You could visibly see the guy jump about 6 inches off of his seat and just about went off into the shoulder from overcorrecting, Well worth the money for the horn and the plug and play kit that lamonster sells, it saves you the time and the trip to the hardware store to get what is needed to do the install.

Here is a pic of it (motohorn) from my recent trip to the dragon at Tabcat Bridge. Worked out great and went in fast with lamonsters kit.
