• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am hearing a rumor floating around that spydertalk is thinking about moving SITA to a different location. Yes, I am biased, but they should keep it in the Adirondacks. The main reason they should Keep it there is that there are already other rallies in the south east (Owner's event, V in V), the midwest (if you don't know this one you need more coffee), and the west (spyders in the redwoods). Not to mention the fact that there are plenty of ryders in VT, NH, ME, MA RI, and CT who look forward to a rally somewhat closer to home. If they move SITA, I am gonna be all bummed out:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Who knows whats going on. You ask them to post info on it or a time frame and nobody responds. I love the area for riding, but the organization of this event is .............. (no comment).

I seems these event planners think people that ride Spyders are all retired, so they can just pack up and hit the road at a moments notice.

Holly has to schedule her vacation by January 1st for the whole year so the only event we could ever count on would be Spyderfest. All these other events you never know when or where they are. IT'S FRUSTRATING........... She scheduled a week in August, but if SITA doesn't fall on that week shes screwed for attending.

Don't quote me on any of the following, as usual I have no clue to what I'm talking about, just what I've heard.

Last year was my first SITA and the fact that it rained the whole time did not dampen my sprites, I had a great time.

I would go again and like others I have to have my vacations in early to make sure I get them, I've penciled in a week in August too. However last year on the Saturday afternoon ceremonies I heard them mention that they where thinking about moving back to the smokies. I think that's where it stared and where the organizers are from.

if your looking for a great event close to you, look for Magog just across the border in Canada, I went last year and had a fantastic time. Unbelievable weather, on great grassy site, roads are a little messed up but still great fun.

otter,

JMO; but, I think the Americade spyder ride (put together by your own S/L's) is/was better than SITA. However, I understand that moving SITA does eliminate one of the spyder rides that was close enough to attend. To make up for it, you'll just have to get the NY spyder riders group to get together more often.

I thought they were from the NE and that was why (among other reasons) that they moved to Lake Placid. It would surprise me if they went back to the Smokies since that is where the Owner's Event is.

I went in 2011 and it rained a lot that year too but we had a great time anyway.

I said don't quote me :roflblack:

I'm getting old and my wife says I have selective hearing anyway. I thought that's what heard, but I've been known to be wrong before.

Funny..!!

Seems that the best results come from good planning. It would seem that if possible to maintain a date for events would make more sense. The venue may change some for many reasons but if it is the same time one could plan ahead. Most successful events are planned a few days after the events results. Good luck with ya'lls SITA

Maybe they could move to to the Appalachians in PA, VA, or WVA. That way it could still be called SITA. :roflblack::roflblack:

S.I.T.A.

I keep seeing this abbreviation but am not familiar with it. What does S.I.T.A. stand for? Thanks.

The Upside? There are getting to be so many :spyder2: events that one cannot attend all of them?:roflblack::roflblack:

We intend on going to Magog this year as it is only a couple of hours from us. Would be great to see some of you there! Are you going again this year Harry? Was great riding with you at SITA and hope we can do it again. We are not sure on SITA, but will decide soon.

Harry, if I'm correct both are from western NY, thats why it was moved from the smokies to NY.

If SITA is moved out of NY, I will think about going to Magog if I can hook up with peple that speak english. Not British english, but USA english. :roflblack: BTW, we loved meeting you last year a SITA with your adorable accent.

ok china plate, if the current bun is as good as it was the last time i'll be hitting the frog and toad in August.

I'll let Eddie decode that one...

I had a great time last year at Magog and found lots of english speaking people. Nice to see different spyder culture as well, different ideas etc.

They had tours and each tour I went on the guide took the time to explain things in english. Food was great much better than SITA, basically gave you a huge steak and access to a row of grills and plenty of side dishes to add.

Trouble is I can not find any details about the event for this year. If its on I will be going.

Netminder, are you going to the Spyder Owner Event in Maggie Vally?.

harry

Off topic, but I've always looked at this event Thousand Island River Run, its June 21-23 the weekend after spyder owner event.

I've never been to that area of New York and it looks a great place to visit the event would just be an excuse.

I've ridden the Cats Skill and around Lake George a few times, I love the roads around the Cats Skills great ridding, but never ridden over to the North West of New York.

You're right Randy at least Mark is, not too sure where Craig lives. Spyders in the Smokies, which was the predecessor(Sp) to SITA was organized I believe by a guy called "Billybob" from I think TN. I haven't heard anything about him in probably a couple of years not sure if he even has a Spyder anymore.
