I have a new to me 2014 RTS with a F4 windshield. I'm 5'8 and sitting on the Ultimate seat, my eye level is a couple of inches above the windshield when full up. I checked and it appears that the distant from up to down is 2.5-3".
While riding at freeway speed for some distance, I'm thinking that I'm getting helmet buffeting and its giving me a slight headache. I have a BRP (L) helmet and I tried my GF's (M) helmet and that didn't seem to make any difference other than her helmet being more tight, unpleasantly tight.
At SF I met someone that had added a piece of windshield(about 10"-12") on to his regular windshield. They had the second piece standing off the original about 1/2" with rubber grommets.
Would that person or others comment on this being the way to go. I have the OEM windshield so I'm thinking that would be an easy solution.
One thought is that going to add too much stress to the windshield mounting setup?
