• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Glad to hear it was something simple. How did the water get into the unit? Is it not a sealed unit? :dontknow: And did the dealer say that, that it may happen agin? If so they should be doing something to prevent it. I sure hope you don't have anymore trouble with it. Maybe you got a good one.

Judging by the way the warranty notice was worded, it appeared to have been something that happened at the assembly plant, and they were shipped out that way. Maybe the sprinkler system went off. Who knows. There are plenty of people riding around in the rain that appear to be doing just fine. Expect that it will be good after replacement.

oh. we dont have cable or dish. just rabbit ears. still get
enough to watch and 2 oldie stations.

got machine back last nite. went into neutral with the "E" popping
up coming to a stop sign . shifted down by itself . behaved the rest of the way home.
it was in eco so i left it there. it seemed like the shift arrow and the 1-6 #'s
were slow coming up. maybe they always were. going out tonite. no
eco mode tonight. does come on pretty good with it on though. can i
stand on it yet ? over 300 miles .

Lots of folks will say to "ride it, like you stole it"... :dontknow:
I like to baby mine for about 600 miles; before heading toward the redline.

we took a little ride today. ran great came to a stop light , went to take of, now in
neutral and the r and n lights are flashing. orange rectangle in the display and sometimes
the motor icon. buck, spit and fart around. barely made it to a gas station, thinking
gauge is fubarred. 3.9 gal, 180 miles. yay! start up, and the whole routine starts over.
finally got a gear and started for home. worst 17 miles of my bike career. the last five miles ran fine.
dealer gets a call in the morning. 260 miles on it and this. 4 different bikes over the years
and zero probs on them. any ideas? im going nighty night. at least we didnt have to walk,
and or see our friends watch our new machine on a friends rollback. thanks for listening-

oh, forgot . the letter E kept coming up.. and no hard stops were involved. great feeling going up a hill in town in traffic and it keeps going into neutral.
p s--its not murphys law, its irvies law.

Mine started doing that on Monday night on the freeway at 75 mph. Then the clutch kept disengaging at speed. About ready to push this thing off a cliff...

what year do you have. have dealer run your vin for problems. my gear
position sensor had water in it.

Mine is a 13 STS SM5....and like the other poster said I told the dealer they can keep that piece. Been riding 30 plus years on many bikes and have never had this much trouble with all of them combined. Guess that's why mine is yellow, its a lemon...

i feel your pain. had honda, yamaha, victory, 3 and 4 wheeled atvs
have 2 honda metro scooters. never had one back for problems ,only maintenance.
before i bought the rts i did a lot of research. almost tryked the victory
except california sidecar made their own mufflers that were too loud.
and there was nothing you could do about it. hope this turns into a positve
from now on. we do like the ride, but starting to think its a rich mans hobby.
time will tell. met a lot of nice , patient people here.
