Your Weather News @ August 2026

My weather radio just went off here in my office and scared the crap outta me!!!! Severe thunderstorm warning.

A major storm system is bearing down on us here and it's really dark out. Our dogs can hear the distant thunder and, no sir, they don't like it one bit!!!

Dunno if I'm going to go downstairs to my gym and work out or not this morn. I hate to be down there and have the power go out.

Hey! It's as good of an excuse as any, right?

My cats are dumb.

They like a good thunderstorm. They sit glued to the window to watch the flashes of lightning. The thunder doesn’t seem to bother them at all.

When the heavy rain comes they just try to paw the rain as it runs down the outside of the windows.

Show them a cat carrier and it’s game on to catch them.

I think perhaps they are broken. They are unlike any cats I have had before.

The weather is "normal" here in Anacortes, WA. Currently: 62 degrees, 3-5 MPH sea breeze, humidity at 80%, and sunny skies. We experienced the usual morning low clouds but by 10 AM they started burning off very quickly. The high today will be 71 and the overnight low will be 55 degrees. I've been in my little rental here in Western Washington for a month and a half now. In that time, I have not had the need for either heat or AC in the house. Most afternoons are screen door days. But the house temperature stays right at 68-72 degrees. This is a good summer retreat. Stay safe..... Jim

Well, today is Wednesday morning, August 12th. Yesterday's rain showers were doable, but we still need more rain. We're supposed to get some afternoon rain showers today.

Currently, we have a cloudy sky at 69°F, with the humidity at 98%. Another in-house project is on the horizon for me.
Naturally, there's No Spyder Ryde Time today because of some old rain showers.

High today at 82°F with some rain.
Low of 67°F and showers.
I hope you have a good day.

Oh boy, a carbon copy of yesterday. Another major thunderstorm heading our way right now! Looks just like yesterday!

In case anyone was wondering, I didn't work out yesterday and I might not today either. Yesterday's storm dumped almost an inch of rain on us in about an hour. The high rain rate during that storm was 7"/ hour. It was coming down in buckets!!! We didn't lose power though, it blinked a couple of times though.

More of the same today it seems.

Same here on the rain in Indiana. Buckets and Buckets full of Rain!
Indiana made the 'National Weather Service'. Many towns East of Indianapolis have been flooded from all the rain yesterday. This morning, the TV News People are saying that we are now under a flood warning.

Currently a little foggy at 66°F. Just a little rain shower now. I am good here and no flooding issues so far.

High today at 85°F with rain showers.
Low of 69°F and some more rain.
So off and on all day rain today 😒

Be Safe and Stay ahead of your weather. That's what I going to do.

Low clouds this morning in Anacortes. Humidity at 86%, which is giving us dense fog in the surrounding waters. Currently, it's 58 degrees and the wind is calm. The high today will be a pleasant 70 degrees with lots of sunshine after this marine layer burns off. No rain in our forecast. Stay safe..... Jim

Heavy thunderstorms here this evening. Torrential rain for a bit. Even had very rare tornado watch in Toole, UT, and the Great West Desert. This side of the Oquirrh Mountains, it was just the thunderstorm and flash flood watches.

All stopped now. Some very welcome rain for suppression of the East Canyon Reservoir fire. Lets hope folks can return home in the evacuated towns.

More thunderstorms overnight and into tomorrow, but let's hope they aren't as severe.

Still waiting for the rain to stop. It has been a very challenging day here in Indiana.
Currently mostly clear sky and looks very wet. Enjoy your Ryde and stay Healthy.

Today's high will be 103F.
Low of 68.
Try and enjoy the day.

Till Next Time my Spyder Forum Friends are always. A PH=RAF

Fidalgo Island continues to experience very pleasant weather. Daytime highs in the mid to upper 60s and the nighttime lows in the mid 50s. Low clouds and heavy fog in the surrounding waters are present almost every morning. The sun burns off the clouds early in the morning, but the fog has been staying out in the straits into the afternoons. Still no rain in the forecast. Radar, GPS Chart Plotters, depth sounders, and fog horns are boaters' best friends at this time of year. Remembering back many years ago when there were (many) times of me being "fogged in", sometimes for a few days at a time. Today's electronics make that a thing of the past. Stay safe..... Jim

Welcome to the WEEKEND forecast from Indiana. Currently cloudy sky and rain showers at 72°F. Yes, we finally have more rain than we really need.
Hopefully we will get a break from the rain on Sunday.

High of 82°F with clouds and rain.
Low at 71°F and some rain.
Sunday is looking good for us. A good
chance of No Rain.

Sunday is a good thing for me.
No rain scheduled for us. Maybe get a little Spyder Ryde Time. Do a ryde time for you if you're able.

Anyway I hope you are able to get out there soon. Keep up the good things of visiting with friends and family.

Rain, rain, and more rain. We've already had two inches fall in the last two hours and it's STILL coming down!

I was able, at least, to mow the lawn yesterday between storms. The mower was a mess afterwards, so at least I had that going for me. ;)
