• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

If/When Ryker Chip Key Mechanically Fatigues

I figured out the link, but there is nothing that would keep the Ryker key from simply falling out. A regular key with a hole/key ring provision would do it, but we have none.

IIRC, the Ryker comes with two 'keys.' I intend to drill a hole in one of them; if it renders it unusable, I'll just get another, maybe for a Ski-Doo.

How would a Ski Doo key be compatible with a Ryker? A chip is far from the old fashioned purely mechanical lanyard of PWCs of the old days.

The Ski-Doo's have the same fob as the Ryker (not sure about the Sea-Doo's?) I'm told you can program one fob to operate all your BRP products. Then you just need one "fun" key to control everything.

Can you make me some lederhosen? :2thumbs:

I need size 48, length 30.

Might could, but not gonna try. I did sew an old piece of suede leather I had laying around over the Spyder key just to see if it was practical. Suede is thin enough that it is not too hard to sew for something really small like that. Sewed an old key ring into the upper part of the learther. No holes in the key at all. The leather cover holds the key ring on. It looks kinda messy, but it works. Getting the proper thickness of finished leather, staining it the same colour as the waxed nylon thread, and using new key rings would look pretty good.

Rolling a stitch marker over it and getting all the stitches even would look even better. I am gonna leave the fugly one on my key for now.

You've got the wrong key in mind!!! The Ryker uses a fob that is a little ball shaped device with "bird's toes" clamp on it that slips over a ball on the Ryker. It is not the usual key made of metal with a chip in the head!

Edit: I guess it's not ball shaped, but rather somewhat diamond shaped about 1/4" thick!

The Spyder keys are the only ones I am familiar with. They have chips in them and they come without a hole to attach them to a keyring.
