• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Frustrations - side case won't open; now the latch/lever is broken! I hope it won't take too long for dealer to fix!!

Back when I first got my Spyder RT I could not get the left side case to open. Flipping the lever did nothing. Lying on the ground and looking at the underside of the mechanism I saw the wire and the small round adjusting piece on the wire. I simply tightened it up and voila, the case opened easily. Well today my right side case would not open. I crawled underneath but could not find the same setup as on the left side. And worse, trying to flip the lever resulted in a broken lever. My local dealer said that he could have a new lever and get the problem resolved next week, which would be great. But I recall the last time I had what I was told was a simple problem, a bad speed sensor, it took over 3 months to get the part and I missed the entire Fall riding season. I hope that next week I can update this thread with good news. Since my rain gear is in the left side case, I feel that I can live without the right case for now. I hope.

This is a known problem with the 2021 RT's; during building BRP was unable to get stainless steel cables and latching mechanisms so they substituted non stainless steel cables, which rust and cause the latch handles to break when trying to open the saddle bags. The fix is to order new cables X 2 and latching mechanisms X 2 and Right hand latch from your dealer. remove the old and replace and adjust the new and then they just need cleaning and lubrication yearly.
