• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm home from Spyder Fest Thread

Just got home and wanted to check in with Ya'll.

No bad weather and more pics for the Scavenger Hunt. :shemademe_smilie:

Getting to put faces with all my friends in cyber-world is great!

A hot shower is calling me, will write more tomorrow.

Big hugs to all...

What about Harvery (Repops) anyone heard from him yet? Also we have our gentleman from Naples, FL. He rode alone and was making a three day trip out of it. I am so sorry, but I am drawing a blank on his name right now. Those are the last two I know of.

You're thinking of Walter from Naples FL (Spyder1026).

Nice guy--- tons of Spyder miles. I think he had 40,000+ on the first one before it went up in flames.

I'm not sure what his return schedule was... I'm sure we'll hear from him upon his return.

Dan, he was the older guy with a red helmet and I think a red spyder right?

Home from Cuba

I arrived home today from my trip to Cuba, MO for the Missouri Rendezvous. On Sunday, I got as far as Chattanooga, TN (550 miles). On Monday, I got to Gainesville, FL (475 miles). Two days to do 1,025 miles would not impress an iron butt rider, but for me it is above average. I can’t do iron butt riding. I would be falling asleep and end up riding off the road. This could ruin a perfectly good Spyder.

In Gainesville, I was less than 300 miles from home. I didn’t go home. Instead, I went to Malabar, FL to visit my brother who is hospitalized there. I saw my brother on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning, leaving the hospital at 1:30 pm, Wednesday. I arrived home at 6:30 pm, using the scenic route as much as possible. See my post regarding hitting an alligator.

My trip to Cuba was 1,300 miles. The total trip was 3,060 miles. Originally, I intended to go to Wisconsin on my way home (Naples, FL) to visit my brother who lives in Wisconsin. I changed my plans when I found out my brother had been hospitalized in Florida where I live.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Missouri Rendezvous. It was well worth the trip. I will definitely be there next year. I especially liked the Saturday afternoon ride through the hills. I would like to see this ride repeated next year. I also liked the midnight ride to see the murals. It was wonderful to meet the people behind the screen names. Cowtown deserves a lot of credit for the success of the event.

Thanks for posting Walt--we were wondering about you! Glad you made it for the event and glad you made it home.

He for sure had a Red Spyder---- can't comment about him being 'older' as that's a relative term.....:doorag:

He's on Spyder #2 because #1 decided to melt....

Older as in at least as old as me...:D Walt, that is it. So sorry, I couldn't remember your name Walt. I am glad you are home safe and sound. I am also glad you didn't get hurt when you hit the alligator.
