• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What should I do for winterizering my Spyder ? Is there any info about Spyderfest 2012 ? thankyou for any info you can give me

battery tender, at minimum. over inflate the tires by a few pounds, or have them nitorgen filled. Stabil gas treatment.

watch us post pics of us riding all year long in TN ;)

Hey Boots
Ditto on the Battery Tender and Stabil. Spyders love that fully charged battery.

Spyderfest is in Cuba MO Apr 25-29 2012. We are working on a dedicated site www.spyderfest.com that currently still has the 2011 info. It should be duly updated in the next couple of weeks. Hope to see you there!

I have cement floor in garage and put my:spyder2: on cardboard and now even have a three pieces of rubber mat that I put under the wheels. Battery tender on, Full tank with stabil. Like the idea of increasing the air in tires. didn't do that last year but sounds good. Besides I just might be able to go out with her again before the snow REALLY gets in the way. Have enough clotheing to keep me warm but know the :spyder2: REALLY DOES NOT LIKE COLD WEATHER!!!! at least mine doesn't. Not much else you can do unless you can hang it from the ceiling and even then not sure it would help:dontknow:. But welcome to the winter storing problems.:dontknow:

I echo what others have said with some minor differences and additions.

I prefer Sea Foam to Stabil, but it serves the same purpose.

I also change the oil just before the end of the season so that it gets put away with clean oil in it.

Battery tender---Absolutely, but also don't let it go more than a month without at least starting it up and running it up to full operating temperature.
Running it up to full operating temperature is key. Starting it and running for a short time can actually do some damage if you don't heat up all the parts and drive out the water of combustion.

I do all the above BUT get it out on the road for a Hour (or Better) ride every 7-10 Days between Snow Storms because Its good for the engine and you get your Best Performance in Cold Air!nojoke

My 08 has never seen a garage, just use a outside cover on it and a battery tender, its sat with 2+feet of snow covering it for extended periods and im still on the original battery.

side note....

do a FULL detail wash and wax on it. and don't forget the seats either.
depending on the storage conditions, it'll make it much easier to clean
off, hope on and ride off; when the season returns.

if you're OCD as I am... ;) yank all of the side panels off and clean them
out underneath, make sure nothing is broken from this past riding season,
and do a good twice over inspection. it's much easier to replace broken
or damaged parts, when the bike is down for a few months; than at the
start of the riding season.

just food for thought
