• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does anyone find al of the attention annoying at times?

I know this sounds like a strange complaint, but everywhere I go at least one person comes up to me with a million questions. I do not mind except that sometimes I am in a hurry and feel like I am being rude if I simply say I am sorry but I have to go. Last night I was meeting my wife for dinner and was running late. No sooner did I park when a guy came over and asked twenty questions. I told him I was meeting my wife and had to go, and rather than leaving it at that he followed me to the restaurant, came up to our table and continued to "pick my brain" about the machine. He was having dinner there as well, but I felt he was intruding. Sometimes people wait until you start to walk away and then begin pawing the Spyder. I even had one guy sit his son on it and take a picture. I walked back to him and he said "i figured you wouldn't mind me getting a picture. My son thought it was "cool." At least ask before yo sit on it! I wanted to ask for the keys to his car so I could sit in it for a while. After al I figured he wouldn't mind.

There certainly are worse things to complain about, but I thought by now people would not find it a novelty.

If touch, sit on, drool on, etc either my GWRRA or the Spyder you had better be ready to hear for a screaming and swearing Tasmania devil. If you sit your kid on my machines that child is gonna learn a couple of new words. Chances are if you ask me you will get a different response.

RESPECT PERSONAL PROPERTY OR ELSE

Now you know what being a celebrity feels like. Just imagine what Ricky Fowler goes through when trying to eat in a restaurant. You need to add one of Lamont's 'Don't Mess with My Spyder' signs on your machine.

:agree: Oh, the life of a ROCK STAR!! I always try my best to be polite and answer whatever questions that I can... I figure that if I can be a good Ambassador for our Spyders, maybe I can help to get more folks out on them... I actually was at a Dealership last Summer for their grand announcement about carrying the Can Am lines... An older couple came over to my bike and we started talking. They had a Harley, but he couldn't hold it up anymore, so they wanted to see if these bikes would be a viable option. Pretty soon I had them both sitting up on mine and showing them the controls and we had a great old time talking motorcycles... They went inside and ordered one that very afternoon! Even if I didn't get a sales commission; I felt pretty darn useful! :2thumbs:

But... If you're running late; be polite and just tell the folks that you wish you had more time, but you've got to be someplace else. Keep some of the foldout brochures available and pass them out like candy on Halloween!

Get used to it - it's a love hate relationship with our fans . ;)

I have been in your situation a couple times now . And I try to sign autographs as much as I can but at some point I just have to walk away smiling.

I actually enjoy it. I just roll with it and have fun during the questions. Life is too short to be in too much of a hurry!

Bob, I Totally agree............I enjoy being an ambassador for the product! When people see your excitment for the :spyder:'s they get even more excited about them. It's great PR for them!

Sorry, but I couldn't help but to laugh at this post. I feel the same way. People tell me that they see me out all the time. When someone in a car sees an 'average' motorcycle rider they usually don't think twice, but the Spyders stand out so much on their own it's AWESOME! There was a similar situation at my work yesterday. One of the supervisors is a Harley rider. He finally got to see my Spyder yesterday for the first time (since he is usually out in the trade). I watched him (unknowingly to him) from my office window, and if he didn't do 20 circles around my bike, then he didn't do one lol. I thought he was going to wear a hole in the blacktop. I found out after I left for the day that there was a 'great debate' :chat:about Harleys & Spyders. Bottom line, I talked to him today, and he is going down to the dealership to demo one. He says he can't ever have too many 'toys', Harley lover or not. I told him that it's like comparing Pepsi to Coke, and the reason I say that is because we work for Coca-Cola LOL HAHAHAHA!

As for coming out of a store or a restaurant and seeing someone on mine, I am not quite sure what my reaction would be....but I am sure it is going to happen eventually.

Actually being famous comes at a high cost that Teddy knows all too well

Imagine being in a Dr's office with a view of your Spyder sitting in the parking lot, when along comes a man & his young daughter who both seem inthrawed with the byke. I watch as the man helps his daughter onto the seat of the byke & he steps back to snap a quick picture. At seeing this, I stop my Physical Therapy & begin to make my way out to the Spyder, when I see the man help the little girl off the byke. But she must have gotten stuck, cause next thing I know, she's standing straight up on the front of the seat, which worried me. I had just recently had back surgery, so I couldn't run, but made my way out as fast as possible, but it was too late, damage done & they were gone. Leaving behind a little shoe print along with this:yikes:IMG_20120504_150223.jpg

I used to get that attention, :dontknow: I must have gotten ugly over the winter, not a lot of folks bothering me much this year.

The first years were the worst. 2009 + 2010. I was questioned almost everywhere I went on the :spyder2:. The :spyder2: was a unique vehicle to Alaska. I had the second one to hit here. It was great to be the latest rock star.

Now that there are a few driving the roads here, I don't get questioned as often. I have always taken the time to answer the questions of those who wanted to know more. I know I am responsible for the sale of at least 4 spyders.

I have not run into any rude people at all. I guess most people in AK are friendly.

I have the only RT in my city and I even get the questions while waiting at stop lights. I was ryding through my old neighborhood the other day and a guy riding a lawnmower pulled into the street and stopped me and wanted to see the Spyder. He even called his wife out to look at it. I guess it is just part of being a Spyder ambassador. I don't mind most of the time, but their are times when you are in a hurry. I'm glad I am not famous.

BUT I LOVE MY :spyder2: SO WHY SHOULDN'T EVERYONE ELSE.

Having owned Spyders for over four years, I am sometimes surprised that they still command so much attention. They seem so normal to us that we forget that there are still people out there that have either never seen or heard of them, or who have never seen one up close. Dealing with the curiousity and questions is part of the game...we did not expect to be able to blend into the crowd. I don't mind answering questions at the gas pump any more than I do here. Yes, it slows me down, but that is the life of a rock star. If you don't sign autographs, your fans will soon desert you. Everyone you talk to is a potential owner and a potential SpyderLover...and that's a good thing.

This is one for the books

When they let you start signing their bras; give me a call and I'll help you out! :roflblack:
:roflblack:I just have to share this with y'all:roflblack:
Last summer, at three different times with three different women, I was shocked with the question asked?

:hun:"So, how much does this get you la:cus:d?":yikes:

:doorag:True story, I swear:clap:

:firstplace:Have I said how much I love Teds Red Sled lately? :firstplace:
:bowdown:Oh yeah, Teddy too:lecturef_smilie:

Why do I get the feeling that there might be a bit more to this story than you're telling right now?? :ohyea: :2thumbs:
Does Teddy get asked the same thing? :roflblack:

More importantly Dave, what was your answer...

Personally though, I don't mind the attention. It means people see me. If they see me in a parking lot, they see me I the road.
