• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Someone with a service Manual???

Could someone with a Service manual tell me where the Press to Talk button wire terminates? I assume it is probably wherever the CB would be located.

My plan is to get my chatterbox unit off my helmet, and incorporate it into the spyder. When finished, I plan on having the option to pipe the radio / IPOD either through the speakers, or the helmets, when we get on the bike, we can plug in to recptacles in the front and rear, and we will each have a PTT button. I plan on using the one that comes with the bike - I assume it isn't used on the A/C models, and the wife will have a PTT button in the back for her.

PTT button is useless

I had the same idea you did a couple of years ago. It just hooks into the canbus which actuates the CanAm CB option through the Spyder's "Computer Area Network" ... ergo "CAN" bus. The reviews and expense of the CB system caused me to ditch the dealer CB option idea all together. Alright ... so the RT-S looks cooler with two whips vs. one, but you'll use CB so little that the option turns out to be a $1000.00 intercom, assuming you're two-up and if you're not, it's just a place to put $1K for nuttin'. I host a rally up in PA and just finished a trip down to Maggie Valley, NC and used my Midland GXT 1050 FRS/GMRS for bike-to-bike. A fraction of the cost and better signal/resolution. The Scala Ryder solutions are your better option for driver-passenger commo. You could buy the FRS/GMRS radio, headset, a portable emergency CB, adapters the Scala Ryders, etc.... and still not even come close to what the CB Option plus installation cost.

I am now thinking of using the useless PTT button as a trigger for my make-believe 37 mm nose cannon. :p
