• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Look what I found today!!!!!!

While doing all my "stuff" to :spyder2:ee today, (changing oil, new plugs and wires, exhaust gaskets and exhaust wrap and rising my shocks up) while taking my airbox off, I discovered this....:yikes::shocked::yikes: an acorn salad with oil dressing...:roflblack: ....:gaah:.. , no, I wasn't really laughing. I was rather P.Oed!!! nuts 4.jpg nuts 1.jpg I have always taken her to the dealer to be serviced and last time I had them check the airbox for oil, that was right before spyderfest. All Clear No Oil they said....:gaah:

You get the STAR!!:firstplace: Actually found him over last winter and stopped his hole up so he couldn't get back in.

Probably good thing it was a chipmunk . Cause mice love chewing on wire....anything rubber for that matter. As I'm sure you already know.

Oh, great dealer you have there too. Be sure and give him one of these :firstplace::mad:

With that being said, The kicker to the story is that even though I had asked them to check the airbox (not just the filter), :spyder2:ee was in for her 6,000 mile service where they are suppose to Check AND Inspect the air filter anyway. BUT in all fairness, when I took the filter out today, it looked new and WAS free of oil. So I guess they done half of what I had asked them to do. :gaah:

Speaking of fairness. Did you only have to pay half of your bill? :roflblack:

Sorry......just couldn't resist.

Just this morning, another spyder rider that I had met last fall, told me over the winter, his was running like crap. Come to find out, mice had built a huge nest in his air box. :roflblack:

That's just nuts!!:roflblack:

All kidding aside when i would lay up my Snowmobiles for the Summer the same thing would happen.
So i started to put moth balls around them, Never had that happen again.

NO OIL ??????

Are feeling ripped off right about now.....? do you think this occurred between then and when you found this...in all fairness

Where we live are tons of field mice, tried every thing to keep them out.

I put tons of d-con poison out, this stuff was disappearing like crazy. Purchased a case load, thought I was ridding the area of mice. Turns out that all that d-con poison ended up in my Goldwing air box as bedding.

Trying smelly dryer sheets at the moment my old Honda shop swear by it, will see if that works over winter.

Bob mention moth ball.... I'll add Irish Spring soap....yep, the bars. Give them all a try - cocktail time for the little buggers! :roflblack:

Awwww crap......God please let my dealer be a good one. I do not desire to have to take my Spyder apart to check behind them......

regular BOUNCE dryer sheets in every area - we put them in the RV (when we had it) and in our boats for winter storage every year - varmints seem to not like that smell too much and go bother other peoples boats instead. D-Con was useless overall. They used to roll in it. The occasional one would die - and then I had to look for them so avoidance became our real mode of action instead of "the kill" approach.

If you can find them, the Shell No-Pest strips work really well. But I think the EPA outlawed them.:gaah:

That's nasty, as obvious and even worse if your dealer didnt do the job you paid to have done. Years ago, I had chipmunks and mice do that to my tractor and pickup truckThey loved putting dog food in boots, golf club bag, etc.. Haven't had any rodents since I started Fresh Cab over 5 years ago.

This spring when I started spydee up for the first time, fuel was pouring out from under the tupperware. I discovered the same thing u found, plus a shreded plastic bag mixed in. two weeks later i was doing a oil change, and decided to check the airbox, and it was half full again. I now pull it off every week...
