• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Took :spyder:to dealer today. I know I know, dealer should have picked it up but wife had DR. appt close by and by taking :spyder: there they couldn't say it would be 2 or 3 days before they could get it cause the trailer was gone. Anyway they found the oil leak problem. They brought :spyder:right in and had a look. What they found was a bad oil pressure switch. Didn't have one in stock so they took it off their demo to get me back on the road. I know cause I watched the whole process. They will order a new one and replace when it comes in. Completely covered under warranty:2thumbs:. Needless to say I am very pleased with my dealer.

Good for you, trooper! Glad you found the oil leak and now have your bike on the road.

I'm not so lucky. I have a fuel gauge problem and the dealer can't find out how to fix it. Has been in the shop since last Thurs. and the best I can get out of them is that they have a call in to BRP for help.

If and when I get the Spyder back, I think I'll just ignore the dealer. Ride it until it quits and then dump it. Bad choice of machines.

bad choice

I would not say that its a bad choice of bikes. I would say that it is a bad choice of dealers. Sure there are some problems that might have to be worked out but its brand new to the market. Do you think that every new model of harley came out with out some problems? Hell I know guys that spend more time wrenching than riding. You bought a great bike that has a bug in it and maybe another dealer might have figured it out for you sooner.

Thanks but I do have to ask what was your last machine that never gave you a problem? If my fuel gauge goes bad and never gets fixed I would not give it a second thought. I get 30 mpg or better and I would just keep track on one of the trip meters and somewhere between 120 and 150 miles I would fuel up.

I doubt that I would get rid of a motorcycle because of a single problem. This is especially true if I had seen from other forum entries that this was apparently an isolated problem. Nobody else seems to have reported it. The dealer could be a problem, but at least they have admitted they need help, and are calling BRP. I know you are disappointed, but you might consider giving things another chance. Remember what your mother told you. "Don't throw the baby out the window with the bath water."

+1 :agree:And to take it a little further the only way I'll leave a bike sitting at a dealer awaiting repair is if it won't run. I don't rely on gas gauges on motorcycles anyway, I've never found on to be entirely reliable.
